So I'm watching America's Got Talent while I eat some Dinner here, and there is a very specific problem...the camera work blows ass.
They use the 5 second per camera rule going to "keep things interesting." This is a fine thing, I guess...focus testing has shown them that people get bored with one long camera shot, or whatever. But there are some things that this show just does terrible. Like during interesting Dancing, tumbling, acrobatic auditions the camera keeps cutting out to the crowd for reaction shots to the cool trick...but I don't fucking care how these people I don't know are impressed with a trick I've never seen...I'd like to see the God damn trick for fucks sake.
I'm also starting to get a little pissed off at Political ads.
The add for the Card Check Law was bothering me for a bit. Listening to the add they talk up how worker privacy and how it's important to protect it. But the tone of the ad has this distinct impression that the worker is being harrased by a maffia type group, and since Unions have this mob tie mythos I figured there had to be something goofy going on, so I found a website that talks about it...and I once again found an anti-card check law site...only this time the opposition was pretty poor at supporting their side of things without coming across as a giant douche. This law makes it easier to get Unions started, by eliminating the vote process, and Business owners are against this because when workers form a union they have to do things like pay them fair and give them breaks and vacation and shit. But I was just mostly impressed with how well the commercial is at making it sound like something the Left should support, and how bad the website did the same. Basically, believe what you want, but look into it...Just one example of the BS that's going on this political season...just really critically think and research before you go to the polls this year, it's an important election.
