Anyways, the days of summer vacation are very boring. Since my family returned from our trip, there has been nothing to do around the house. My brother is out of the state for two months, my sister has band camp. So what have I been doing? Thanks to Ms. Heather, I have been watching a cool Chinese television show entitled Stealing Dragon. It is unusually funny, and very dramatic towards the last few episodes. I have been refining my skills of Chinese pronunciation, now I think I am fairly adept.
About the show, a concubine named Zhang was supposed to give birth to a baby boy and become the empress. Instead, she gives birth to a girl, but greedy as she was, she switches her baby girl with another mother's baby boy. The mother of the boy decides to take revenge on the now-an-empress by leaving her baby girl outside a brothel to be raised. This baby girl grows up to be the current eighteen-year-old Qianqian who is in search for her true parents. The show stars the extremely pretty Zhang Ting as Qianqian, the extremely funny Wu Mengda (i.e. Shaolin Soccer) as Qin Zhongyu, and many others. Watch it. Do it. Thank God there are captions (although at times, even a non-Chinese-speaker can see that they are not accurate).
