I'm starting Creative Writing on Monday. Last chance at Uni before they loose patience and 'ask' me to leave.
Turns out - News Flash! I don't have to be serious or strategic or careful. I can let loose, run wild and sit in my room with my little black books writing. History, Politics, Chinese Sociology in a Modern Theatre, pshaw! Leave them at High School. It's taken me an embarrassingly long time to realise that at Uni, I'm in control. I'm writing the curriculum, if not the syllabus. Talk about a mentality shift.
It's like, choose which hoops you jump through - I'm the rider and the horse, and the course isn't set. I'm the pilot in the storm and buoyant raft that crests the wave.
