At Tonks dwelling in Hogsmeade

It only took 36 hours but Tonks finally had all the boxes unpacked.

Her flat was located on the outskirts of Hogsmeade, just far enough from the town centre to be considered out of the way without being remote. The house was simple but compact. The front door opened into a living room with a large fireplace along one wall and shelves and a desk along the opposite one. The remaining wall had two doors that led to the kitchen and bedroom respectively. The kitchen was now well stocked with enough food that would last at least a couple of weeks (unfortunately Mundungus was correct about the lack of alcohol). The bedroom had an adjoining bathroom which was barely big enough for one person but it would suffice.

All in all, the house was a typically, low-rent dwelling.

Except there was a trick wall in the bedroom that would allow Tonks and only Tonks to move through in case of attack. The fireplace was locked into the Floo network with the highest security spells possible. The few windows the house had were all see through Foe glasses. And every brick, every roof shingle, every doorknob had the very best wards, guard spells and security charms known to Aurors.

So why was it that Tonks didn't feel safe?

Well, maybe safe wasn't the right word. The house was impenetrable or at least as impenetrable as it could possibly be. It was just that Tonks had this feeling of disquiet, of unease. There was a tingle in her fingers that urged her to snatch up her wand and back into a corner. Something was going to happen, something bad.

Even the hoard of attack potions, weapons and defence items stashed under the floorboards in her bedroom didn't assuage her fears. It wasn't that she doubted her abilities, she wasn't worried about being strong enough to fight, it was just...

She couldn't help but remember at moments like these that she was still young. Really young for an Auror and she wondered why Amelia Bones chose her of all people to take this assignment.

Besides the obvious, what made her so special?
