Still working on breaking out of my comfort zone photo and otherwise. Trying to experiment with things I might normally not try. This photo is definitely different than anything I’ve tried before. This isn't the photo I had in mind when I started, but I think it turned out okay. I shot it during one of our daily afternoon thunder showers. It's grainy because it was so dark out and I bumped the ISO way up and still was using long shutter speeds (25-30 seconds!).

This photo was inspired by my Mom. Last week she had surgery to remove two spots of breast cancer. She is home recovering and doing well at the moment but the discovery of cancer was pretty unexpected. I’ve been struggling with my own health problems and my Mom has really been my rock while I’m struggling to recover so this surgery has me doing a lot of thinking about how important she is to me & how much I love her. The flowers I’m holding were given to her by the softball team my Dad coachs after she shared her diagnosis. They also donated money in her & another Coach's names.
She still has a ways to go, getting stitches removed and reconstruction but I will continue to support her and hopefully through my actions show her how much she means to me.
