Writer's Block: Gone but Not Forgotten

M*A*S*H. I can't even remember how I got into MASH but now it is my go to pick-me-up tv series. That may seem strange being it's a show dealing mostly with the Korean war but the characters make the show. At one point I had all 11 season. I seem to have lost 2 but I'm fairly certain when I eventually clean through my room I will find them. But any way, I know MASH isn't really a recently cancelled show, I mean many people from the cast are dead now. But even seeing the reunion of the cast a while back one can tell how much love the cast has for the show and how much fun they had. Plus, MASH introduced me to Alan Alda who I (mostly always) love in the role of Hawkeye Pierce. Seriously though, MASH had good plots most of the time too. Characters were developed, the awefulness of war was shown, and yet the show had lots of comic moments.

The original movie is also a fun watch if a dated movie now. From the bits I read of the book I think the movies had more of the books plot lines in it and the characters might have been a bit more true to form but the football game near the end of the movie kind of kills it for me.I'm just not into football, but it's still a fun movie. I still do Donald Sutherland's Hawkeye's whistle at my Dad sometimes.

Enough of my rambling. But you should seriously go look up MASH if you've never heard of it. Watch it and feel moved.
