Prince Caspian

I went to see Prince Caspian with my newly graduated bestie Mandi and most of the people at her after party. It was pretty awesome! I think most of us watching agreed there were definatly some Lord of the Rings-esqu bits. When the trees started moving I turned to Rachael and said "look! The Ents are coming!" And why yes I am a dork, thanks for checking.

Things I liked:
Capian's big escape into the forest. I had heard good stuff about online and I wasn't disappointed. It was pretty awesome looking.
The kids return to Narnia. I loved it in the trailer too. The lion statue outside the train station was a great touch and the blurring look thru the train that turned into the beach area was beautiful.
The guy who played the dwarf(Trumpkin I think, which ever the one who was going to be drowned at the beginning.)
That the movie people keep Lucy calling him ^ D.L.R. [dear little friend]. I remember that from the book and was glad it was included.
Lucy eatting apples at the castle's ruins. I remember that from the book too and it made me smile.
Aslan's How! And yay for seeing the Stone Table again! I wonder if they just kept it from the first movie or had to remake it... I was confued how/why the table was underground now but it wasn't important so I forgot about it.
THE WHITE WITCH!! I don't care if she wasn't in the book Tilda cameo was great!
The camera moves durning Peter and Miraz's fight. This fight made me want to sword fight even though I only ever learned a tiny bit of fencing.
When Peter,Caspian and crew had to retreat and leave Narnians behind. Made me very sad,but great scene.
Edmund and that flashlight. Some major LOL moment.
The river spirit/Neptune guy. I saw that in the trailer and let out a fan girl squee because I knew it would be awesome and it was. Made me think of the Ford in the Fellowship movie.
Aslan was still great. Liam Neeson has a great voice.
Ben Barnes as Caspian. It took me a minute to get used to the accent but then I was digging him.
Skander Keynes as Edmund. Dang he grew up and got cuter and kicked some serious butt in this film.
more pretty costumes!
Most of the music. I liked that some themes from the first movie were reused. I did think the one random song with lyrics near the end of the movie didn't quite fit tho.

Things that weren't so awesome (IMO):
-Peter's characterization. That fight at the train station...meh.He seemed a bit more whiny than I expected but it got a little better towards the end of the movie.
-The subtle Susan/Caspian bits added. Yes movie making people, you must always add romance for the kiddies. NOT. (Though I did snicker when Susan told him to keep the horn in case he need to call her.)
-The guy who was Miraz's second-in-command.Not him really, but when he did the whole fake betrayal thing after Peter and Miraz's fight I was like wait a sec....what just happened? Why did he do that? It just seemed he had no reason.
-No Tumnus makes me sad.
-No mini extra scene after the movie. The little one with Lucy and the Professor was really good in the first one so I was hoping for one this time. Oh well. I'll just have to wait until the dvd comes out.

So,yea.Good movie overall if a little long.I found my old copies of most all the books so I'm rereading Caspian now. If I have time I might want to go see the movie again when I'm done.
