Yesterday Nick and I and his family/friends went to the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI. It's like heaven for pilots, I guess. I really liked the airshow part, but I could've lived without standing around looking at airplane bolts and carborators (however you spell it) for hours. I saw Space Ship One on it's final flight before it's sent off to wherever, that was cool. They had a Harrier and whatnot, but my favorite part is the aerobatics. We were there from 8am-8pm and then went to dinner at a mexican place, where Nick ordered me a melon margarita the size of my head. I was wasted. :)
My job is super duper kick ass. All of my team members are now my friends. We have lunch together almost every day. The firm had a bowling outing at this place next to the House of Blues last week and my whole team went. I know it sounds nerdy but it was this really kinda swanky bowling place, and they served us fancy little pizzas and had an open bar. I had lots of grey goose, in fact, everyone did! Over two hundred people played, and of all of them, I had the WORST SCORE! I couldnt beleive it. For that, I actually win a prize. If our team has the lowest score, then we get to have lunch with the CEO but I dont know if that will happen. It was hilarious. I also went and saw our company softball team play (and lose) in the city championships near Grant park.
We also got towed downtown that night, which made me want to light Chicago on fire. It's so fucking stupid. No sign, no anything, and I had to walk down Lower Wacker Dr, which is the scariest place on earth, in the dark. $160 later and nick and I got the car back. I also got a $50 ticket for actually getting towed. Those assholes.
The condo is going well. Nick and I go 'visit' it all of the time. It's here in Crystal Lake, and it's two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. It's kinda groovy but we'll be able to fix it up. I've already signed a buncha papers, but I dont think we close for another few weeks. Thankfully it'll be by the end of this month, since I cant fucking stand it with Nicks parents. They are so fucking crazy. I actually dread coming home at the end of my twelve hour days.
We went to Schaumburg today to look at house-y stuff. Picking out tile and faucets that we probably wont ever buy, or be able to buy. But it's fun nonetheless. I cant wait to paint and knock down some walls and put in some cool bathrooms.
Adios
