/sigh/ this is still a very complicated issue. regardless, my degree will be from my canadian uni, and i'll be doing an exchange in japan.

i thought i could graduate in four years, after telling myself it'd be five. then i realized those few courses i'd dropped/not taken delay my graduation. i didn't know i needed random courses that did nothing for my degree, just to get all the credit hours.

so my plan was to do next year, living in the apartments in residence. then get an apartment for the summer (because i cannot go back to newfoundland, it's too small). i had three days of mass confusion when deciding what to do next (enter hysteric phone calls to my dad) when my plan was this:
complete this year, go home for the summer.
do my year next year, living in residence.
finish in april, get an apartment.
do a single course in the fall, then full semester in the winter.
come next autumn, go to japan.
spend the year, graduate, find job in japan.

the international coordinator said my plan was very strategic and yay, good for me. japanese prof says no. can't go to japan in my last year; uni won't help fund me, and what would i bring back to my uni? so i am back to going after next year.

which would mean i'd only live here alone for the summer. which seems worthless. and i wouldn't have an extra year to continue with advanced japanese. so i'd go back to my recent plan of studying intermediate japanese all on my own this summer, have prof assess me in the fall, and continue with advanced japanese, to be prepared for japanese uni.

but. coordinator said it was okay. said it was good. said it was strategic.

i know you only asked where i'd graduate from, and the answer is canada. but i need to vent this somewhere.
