What do you say?
What do you say to your mom who is dealing with the coming loss of her mother?
My grandma has taken a turn for the worse. She has an infection and her blood pressure is 250/110. My dads been calling the airlines trying to get my mom an earlier flight than Saturday but no luck yet. I just pray that my mom can say goodbye. I still pray my grandma lives through this, but the news doesnt seem to be good.
I cried the first time I heard my grandma had a stroke. Since then.. I have felt sorta numb. I go through bursts of being fine to bordering on breaking down. My mom is trying to keep it together, but I know she is not doing well.. I can hear it in her voice when I call. I just don't know what to say to her.
Then there is the guilt.. of being even the slightest bit happy on Christmas during this whole thing. I suspect it will be hard being at Chris's family's house.. with them not knowing her.
I do believe in miracles though.. so I refuse to lose hope.
