New idea for a SPN/SGA fic
Yesterday I was bored so I went for a walk. *pauses* Okay, not really. In actuality, I laid on dad's hammock on the front porch (though why it's his, I dunno, cause I've used it more than he has since we've gotten it), but MENTALLY, I took a walk. I was looking for something. I didn't exactly know what I was looking for, but I knew it when I found it.
I found this. *holds up a pale bunny with shining, clear blue eyes, which distract from the fanged overbite it has*
After it bit me, I found myself plotting a SPN/SGA fic. It took a bit of working to line up the timelines, but if we pretend that the last few eps of SGA happened closer to May instead of February, it works.
So the scenario goes like this. Some time after Monster at the End of This Book (4x18) but before Rapture (4x20), Castiel comes to Dean and asks him and his brother to go to a "Holy City" (Atlantis) to help fight this great evil. (Oh! Maybe there's a Seal out there? Like...maybe if Atlantis arrives on Earth, the Seal breaks? Or, if Atlantis leaves Pegasus? Or if the Wraith, dunno, do something?). Dean says sure so Cas gives them a potentia (ZPM) then sends them off to the SGC to catch the gate to Atlantis. Daniel's the one who meets them because Cas asked him and Daniel worked it that Sam and Dean are "experts" in...something (I imagine Daniel pulls out a really long couple of words that boils down to "Hunters of Evil", but everyone except Sam Carter and Teal'c tunes out the long string of latin so only they catch it) and gets them to Atlantis, letting the SGC keep the ZPM as a "gift". When asked, they claim it was a family heirloom.
So they get to Atlantis. They interact with the senior staff, for the most part. Dean, oddly enough, bonds with Radek (between appreciation of alchohol, love of tweaking electronics, and, surprisingly, chess), while Sam forms a connection with Teyla. From there, John kinda connects with both. Dean for his love of things that go boom (or, well, bang and all things fire), and Sam because they both went to Sanford. Rodney...Meg seems to think he'd get along better with Dean and after consideration, I agree. Yeah, Dean's blunt and Rodney might take it badly at first, but once he had time to percolate, he'd be grateful. And, yeah, he'd like Dean's ingenuity. I mean, Dean built an EMF out of a walkman. For a non-genius, that's up there with Rodney building a non-working model of an atomic bomb.
I really only see flashes of various scenes in the City, and maybe a vague encounter with a Wraith (also, I keep seeing Dean meeting Todd and Sam trying to kill him with his powers because he sounds and resembles Alistair's last host.
This could work, though. If you accept that angels are ancients and demons are ori. If we accept that both boys have the ATA gene strong enough that they have pro-Ascension powers (Dean heals himself quickly, and anyone he provides first aid to. Sam, obviously, his visions, telekinesis and, ability to mentally control and kill "evil" souls). This could work.
