Blake's Cider Mill

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the Cider Mill with our 2.5 year old granddaughter Skye. The day was beautiful, about 70 degrees with a clear blue sky. The site was crowded and we had to wait in long lines for the Pony ride, train ride and Pumpkin Bounce house. It was worth the wait just to see Skye's joy while she enjoyed the activities. She was so tired at the end, she could barely chew her donut, but she managed, as this was the one thing she really wanted - a donut. Being there brought back memories of taking my own children. Of course the mill has expanded quite a bit and the activities they offer now are very different from what was available when we used to take my girls. Back in the good old days we picked apples and had donuts and cider. That was it. Now it's like a farm-based Cedar Point. Animated characters play music, kids get to pet animals, they can ride the train and a hay wagon, ride a pony, climb a huge hill made of hay, go through a corn maze, and a few other activities. And of course there is the wrist-band at $8.50 each (not including the Pony ride). I'm not sure who was more tired at the end of the day, or who had more fun! Oh and the donuts are as grease-laden and yummy as ever!
