whew! what a fun time i have been having.
so i was trying to think of a clever title for this enrty, i came up with two, tell me which you like best. 1. "blogging the dead horse" and 2. shit i forgot what number two was. fuck!
that sucked, i'm sorry.
i see good concerts lately, its pretty fun. sunday we went to seattle and everybody won in their own way. joss made $140 in trade ins at the music store, so he got about 12 new cds. adam bought a grip of cds and some jeans. laura got some cds and a shirt. amy got 3 shirts. and i also got three shirts, a misfits shirt, a postal service shirt AND a fannypack shirt. oh yeah i didn't say why we were in seattle. we went to see fannypack. good story: while we were shopping at a vintage clothing store joss and i heard some good electro-pop type shit playing there so we asked who it was, the girl said "the fitness" we were bound and determined to remember that, and we were pretty sure we could do it. later on we sent laura into a store to ask for directions to the fannypack show, she came back with good directions and said "i guess a band called 'the fitness' is opening tonight". UNREAL!!! we asked the name of a band we liked and it turned out that we already had tickets to their show that day. we fucking rock!! isn't that crazy?? so yeah the show was really early, the fitness are less charming live than recorded but thats ok, they had a funny dancer/guitar player/singer guy. there was lots of crazy dancing in this little venue and laura, adam, and i watched some gay boy drama unfold. it was pretty good. in between the fitness and fannypack there was a two hour booty bass dance session, lots of funny going on, prefect warm up for fannypack. then fannypack. they were fucking AWESOME, not even gross like we thought they would be. matt introduced himself as DJ BIG BLACK MATT. good stuff. there is a new girl and one less also, so a swap happened. she was shy, small and timid. jessibel was super funny and kat was pretty awesome too. www.fannypack.net eat it up motherfuckers!!
ok on to more good shit. quannum. thats right i saw quannum. dj shodow, chief XL, two other djs, lifesavas, lateef, gift of gab, joyo vallarde, and lyrics born. motherfuck yeah bitch. the sound wasn't so hot and that was the only downfall of the show. they did things in rotation so it didn't get boring, so they would do like a lifesavas song(oh yeah i like the lifesavas more now than i used to, which was 0) then lateef would do a song then gift of gab would do a song with him then lyrics born would do a song, then they would repeat. everything was fucking awesome. lyrics born dances like a two year old trying to grab his toy and latin heart throb at the same time, that guy is fucking awesome. i just remembered number two!! "the blog is hot".
in other concert news i'm seeing kool keith and jacky jasper tonight. i rule!
i think thats it for now, work is still awesome, i need to skate more. blog blog blog.
