This video includes a robocall from John McCain and the RNC that offends me on a grammatical level.
"You need to know that Barack Obama has worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. His organization bombed the US Capital, the Pentagon, a Judge's home, and killed Americans."
The sentence creates (intentionally?) ambiguous
pronoun trouble. Who does "his" refer to? Obama's organization or Ayers' organization? Perhaps the organization that they both "worked closely" within. The sentence is constructed to create the impression that Obama and Ayers worked together to blow up the US Capital and Pentagon without actually saying so. It's dirty, it's wrong, it's a fifth grade grammar error, and it's one of several reasons why
Colin Powell decided to endorse Barack Obama. Half
empty fear mongering, half
objectively incorrect.
