Get Amory Lovins on the Daily Show
I met Amory Lovins a few years ago at a private conference. He gave a dazzling talk about practical engineering, efficiency, new energy sources, and how private corporations can make massive amounts of money by doing the right thing. I was impressed by his quick wit, encyclopedic knowlege, and ability to say things that simultaneously sound completely outrageous yet obvious in hindsight and easily achievable.
I recently started listening to the Commonwealth Club podcast and I discovered that Amory gave a talk there on December 4, 2006. It's an updated version of the talk I heard, and I found myself thinking that Amory really needs a wider audience. (Deafie-friendly slide presentation here.)
I realized that Amory would be perfect on the Daily Show. Like most Daily Show guests he's hawking a book, but unlike other guests he can just say "download it for free". He's smart, funny, outrageous, completely apolitical, and I can see his rapid-fire delivery make Jon Stewart's head explode. Does anyone have an idea how I could help make this happen? Anyone know someone on the production crew?
