Beard Papa's Nintendo DS Lite Pre-Release Map of Lies
A co-worker showed me his Nintendo DS Lite and the demo convinced me to buy one. Unfortunately the DS will be released on June 11th - the day my week-long vacation ends. It would be so much more convenient if Nintendo released the DS Lite *this* weekend, giving me something to screw around with while workmen nail a roof onto my house. I was therefore quite interested to find this article on Digg, mentioning that several big box stores like Target and Wal-Mart were apparently selling DS Lites early. The article links to this map showing where they could be purchased.
I visited two Kmarts, two Targets, one Wal-Mart, and one Best Buy last night on a trip that took me through Crenshaw and Slausson among other places. A few stores had a few DS-regulars, most stores had no DSes whatsoever, and no stores were selling prerelease DS'es including one that the map said would. I can only conclude that Beard Papa has once again created a vast conspiracy of rumor and lies to frustrate and sadden me.
