Harry Whittington apologizes to Dick Cheney

Feb 17, 2006 16:43

I remember when this cartoon was a joke:

Today Harry Whittington finally swallowed his pride and apologized to Dick Cheney for being shot in the face by him.

Whittington, wearing a suit and tie, appeared with several bruises on his face and neck. His discharge from the hospital came earlier than expected.

"My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice President Cheney and his family have had to go through this week," Whittington said.

Hopefully Harry Whittington's sincere apology for all the pain he caused the Vice President will finally allow Dick Cheney to put this terrible experience behind him.

Update: In his apology, Whittington mentions that he was shot in the face by the Vice President on Friday.

We all assume certain risks in whatever we do, whatever activities we pursue. And regardless of how experienced, careful and dedicated we are, accidents do and will happen - and that’s what happened last Friday.

Then again it *is* Friday - maybe he had a "say today instead of the actual day" brainfart.
