Never Forget!
Every so often I see "NEVER FORGET!" captioning a picture of the World Trade Center. "What kind of moron would forget 9/11?", I think, "Especially when everyone's beating the dead horse by saying 'NEVER FORGET!' which seems pretty absurd in the first place." Then I realized that most people have forgotten the explosion of the USS Maine even though it was accompanied by the clear admonishment "Remember the Maine! To hell with Spain!" Can anyone think of any other major event that we've forgotten dispite being admonished to "NEVER FORGET" it?
