You Misspell Just To Know Your Journal Is Being Read
Whoah, immortalamigone is really pissed about the public reaction to her new tattoo. Her journal is now friends-only, saying "please comment if you want me to add you". Unfortunately that entry only allows comments from friends, which leaves her unfriended readers in a bit of a catch-22.
Here's the comment I tried to post:
In my case ignorance isn't bliss: ignorance is head-scratching confusion. I've read the explanation: that "your" is empowering because it communicates posession of "alive". But in that case shouldn't you have written "You bleed just to know the full extent of your aliveness?" "Alive" can't serve as the direct object of the second clause because it's an adjective, not a noun. The grammar still seems incorrect, just not in the way most people presume it to be.
