An update finally

Feb 24, 2006 03:43

I thought about going through all of February without an update, but I figured I should update anyway. My last entry was January 5, so it's been a long time. Nonetheless, I'll try to keep this entry on the short side, to accommodate all you readers who have short attention spans.

Here are my classes this semester:
Chinese 115 - Elementary Modern Chinese
Astronomy 120 - Galaxies and the Universe
History 314 - Chinese Intellectual Traditions
Economics 115 - Introductory Microeconomics
Linguistics 110 - Introduction to Linguistics

Classes are going well. My schedule is pretty good. I get to wake up late -- my earliest class is 10:30 or 11:30 depending on the day. Mondays and Wednesdays are a bit rough, though, because I have class from 10:30 to 3:45 nonstop. I had two midterms this week, one today and one yesterday. They were okay. Yesterday's was astronomy, and I did pretty well in that. Today's was econ, and I did not as well as I wanted, but I think I'll do fine after the curve; apparently, other people thought it was hard too. We'll see. Next week I have linguistics and history. The history one is a bit worrisome, but I'm taking it credit/d/fail, so it shouldn't matter. I had a 7-10 page paper due in that class last week too. It was not any fun at all, mostly because my paper topic was so boring.

Aparajit came to Yale last week. It was very good to see him, although a bit strange too, I thought, that I would see him here at Yale. Last week was also Sex Week at Yale, and I have to mention that Aparajit was totally obsessed with the idea of Sex Week.
Andrew Pape is coming down to visit me on Saturday. I'm really excited for that. It's so great that there are actually people coming to visit me.

I will be coming home for spring break. I was unsure of this earlier in the year, but I've bought my plane tickets. Spring break is March 4-19; I'll be home from March 3 to March 17. I don't plan on doing anything, but perhaps I'll visit some people. Anyways, it's almost 4 am and I should do homework and/or sleep. (I hope you noticed this was a short entry.)
