satiaStage One: You begin losing but nobody really notices. Depending on how much you want to lose, this could go on for 5-10 lbs.
Stage Two: People begin to notice you are losing weight. Everywhere you go, people ask, "Have you been losing weight?" You feel good because people are finally beginning to notice.
Stage Three: Clothes are getting looser. If you didn't keep your skinny clothes this means you have to buy a whole new wardrobe. If you did keep your skinny clothes this means you have to reward yourself with at least half a new wardrobe.
Stage Four: You are nearly at your goal. You are no longer counting pounds in how many lost but in how many more you have to lose because you are so close to your goal that you forget how far you have come.
Stage Five: Within 5-10 lbs of your goal the same people who didn't notice the 5-10 lbs you had lost are now commenting on how much you have lost and warning you to be careful. Any and every horror story they have heard about your diet of choice they will gladly share with you so you know that no matter how well you have done you are just going to put it all back on anyway.
Stage Six: You have reached your goal. Congratulations! Now you can either maintain the weight, which is easier said than done but definitely worth the effort, or you can prove all your well-meaning friends how right they are, pile back on the pounds and start all over again.
SO! What stage are you in? =)
