In Remembrance of Travis...

He sat alone at lunch breaks, because he was the new guy.

He always asked you how your day was. You didn't.

He always listened when you needed to vent. You never bothered to ask what was bothering him.

He tried to hug you, and you cringed in embarassment.

He always told you to drive safely. You always said a quick "You too." (Little did you know how important these words would become.)

If anyone called and needed him, he was there as soon as he could be.

He held the door for you.

He always offered to help you carry all of your crap out to your car. Every night. You never let him.

He just told you he wanted to make a career of helping people, so he could make a difference with his life.

He was probably the nicest guy you have ever known.

He missed work yesterday. He didn't call in. That's so unlike him.

You turned on the news today, and heard his name in a fatal accident from the day before, exactly a half of an hour before you had to be at work. It wasn't his fault. Someone hit him head-on, in his lane.

You never told him you thought he was nice. You never told him you thought about sometime in the future trying to be a better friend. You never told him to drive careful on his trip.

You never told him how sad you would be if something were to happen to him, or how you wished there were more people like him in this world. You never told him he would make someone a great husband someday, or a great father. You never told him how good of a friend you ever thought that he was.

And you will never get that chance.

If there is anyone in your life that you take for granted, please take the time to tell them how you really feel. They truly may not be here tomorrow.
