Turkey
Turkey was free again.
Free to throw off his black cloak.
Free to wear his kulah and his white gown.
With practiced movements embedded in his feet's memory he turned slowly with the chanting and the music his gown swirled around him.
Head tilted to the side as if weighed down by his hat he glided around the floor. Whirling with hands raised he could feel the world spin with him. He rose past his ego turning towards truth and felt love spinning around him. The song drifted past his mind he realized perfection beyond the grave and with Ala.
Greece
Greece didn’t like to speak, because it took away from his quite contemplation. Some would say he was buried in the past. Surrounded by crumbling temples he might have been.
Greece though saw it as wisdom. His mother rode with Nike and appeared as Athena conquering and expanding. She fought off the Persian Empire, and she fell.
He knew golden ages were temporary, and the brighter your burned the more spectacular your fall. Not even the Roman Empire was immune.
That is why he sat serenely watching young squabble over the trivial. Knowing they only hurried to their own end.
Finland
As much as the people of Helsinki were Finland’s so were the Sami, whether his people realized it or not.
Sometimes the struggles between nations paled in comparison to living a life in regions other found inhospitable. Sometimes it was more of a struggle to maintain identity and individually against a dominate culture.
Finland was in love with the romantic feel of the back to basics life. Finland saw the beauty through in the bright colorful garments the Sami wore against the snow. His heart swayed to the haunting melody of a joik. Most of all he loved the reindeer.
Canada
Canada wore contacts on the ice. The last thing he needed was to break his glasses, and he didn’t want an accident to ruin his game. Hockey was the only place where people recognized him. He was the star, and people cheered for him. It was the only place he out shone America, and that drove America nuts to Canada’s delight.
The Cup was given to the world by his lord, and every one wanted it even America. Sometimes America even earned the right to hold Lord Stanley’s Cup, but in the end it belongs to Canada and his smile.
Austria/Hungary
At first Austria had his doubts about his marriage to Hungary, while he understood the political merits to the marriage he just couldn’t see it working.
She was a warrior, while he was blue blood. She was loud, and he was quite. She was rock and roll in a roaring crowd. He was classical in a still chamber room. She was fiercely independent, while culture dictated she should submit.
But when one day Hungary bravely slayed a spider invading the parlor while Austria jumped on top of his chair, he had to admit it was a match made in heaven.
America
It had been two hundred years since the birth of the most important man in America’s life, but he only wanted to forget.
America remembers how vulnerable he had been back then. Young and self destructive he almost fell apart, but his boss knew he had to stay together for everyone.
Still the scars were deep, and made deeper when a gun shot echoed in Ford’s Theater. Feeling exposed and bare he decided he couldn't let this happen again.
A hero doesn't feel pain. A hero doesn't have to look at his past. That is why he became a hero.
Norway
Germany went too far. First he took Norway's vital regions. Then he claimed they would together create a great new world. Norway wasn't fooled and could see the desperate need for conquest in Germany's eyes.
When industrial buildings were built, and leading physicist came Norway crossed the mountains to see Sweden. Both Sweden and England helped Norway smuggle weapons across the border, and Norway attacked the research facilities.
Near the end of the European Theater Norway and his rebels drove the researchers out. They packed their research on a boat, and Norway waved as they set sail and blew up.
Rome/Germania
With a shout Rome charged Germania, and his sword bounced off the wooden shield. Ducking swiftly Germania's axe barely missed his head, but he smiled brightly. Another swing of his gladius backed Germania into a tree.
"You should come with me. I will give you the riches of the world." Rome offered.
Lifting his shield he barely deflected the next axe blow.
"I am no coward."
Bashing Germania into the tree with his shield Rome pinned him. With his knee between Germania's legs he whispered. "You should come with me."
Germania kicked him off. “I said I’m not a coward!”
England/France
It is said that war makes strange bed fellows, and France had to admit this may have been the strangest.
Maybe it was because the rain on the tin roof above was actually shrapnel, or that they were ankle deep in mud. It could have been that France was more interested in a dry pair of socks than the hand down his pants.
But France knew what made this surreal was that England was more interested in getting his hand around France's cock in stead of his neck.
They would hate each other tomorrow, but for now there was companionship.
RussiaxGermany
Germany was beginning to understand why Lithuania had that haunted look in his eyes. Russia was always watching him, and the only exhaustion would let him sleep in the mounting fear.
Sometimes Germany would wake up, and Russia would tower above him, and have a crazed look in his eye.
Germany would struggle, but he was tiered from the war and sick with himself. He knew what he was doing, but he pretended it didn't happen. Then in the end everyone looked so accusingly at him, and he grew sick.
Russia hurt him, yet Germany was certain he deserved it.
Notes
Turkey
This is a description of what we call a Whirling Dervish. It is a form of prayer by the Sufi order called the Mevlevi. They were made illegal in Turkey for a period of time, but were legalized again in the 1950s.
Greece
Because Greece needs love.
Finland
The Sami are a group of people who live in the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. I choose Finland as an introduction to them because Finland is cute and would romanticize them.
Canada
I'm a hockey fan...
Do you Bleed Blue?
(the add campain for the St. Louis Blues)
AustriaxHungary
Because they are a cute couple.
America

Old Germanic and Norse cultures both believed that surrendering was a cowardly act. They also believed being the "bottom" in a homosexual act was a form of surrender.
EnglandxFrance
WWI trench sex... >.>
And yes trench foot was a big enough deal that France would put it before sex.
RussiaxGermany
Post WWII during the Russian occupation of Eastern Germany or if you would like during the Cold War.
