A serious note

I really wish people would just pass on a little kindness from time to time. Respect, you know? I read a story on Digg today about a kid who gunned down over a dozen people in Germany because he was bullied. Supposedly he posted a warning that he was going to kill people online a few hours earlier. Disgusting. I really wish this could have been prevented in some way.

While it was later discovered that the posts on the "internet chatroom" (probably a forum) were faked, I really hope that if people see these warnings they take them seriously. I remember years ago, maybe 2002 or so, some loser on Althanas wrote about how one day he planned to kill a few people at his school. When asked if he was joking, he said no and that he had guns/plans. Luckily at the time the Admin of the site was active enough that he immediately used the IP of the account to contact local authorities in the poster's area. It was probably the only reason I ever had any shred of respect for the Admin. Sent a chill up my spine remembering that, though.

I'm not saying we all have to be super kind to each other--just show a little respect to one another for fuck's sake.

A new president or a fucking bailout isn't the only thing it's going to take to turn shit around. The world won't save itself with money. Stop blaming other people for your fuckups and take care of your damn kids before they all kill each other.
