Slag-spoutin' Saurian

I have been a member of a Beast Wars LJ community for a long itme. It seems that in the last few years, the only thing that comes out of it is a bunch of slash and fanfics I honestly don't care for. While I understand that this type of fanfiction is a huge part of any popular movie, book, series on the internet, I don't quite agree with all aspects of it.

I support individuals taking the time to write about their little fantasies, but let's be serious here people. Beast Wars, while having its sexual tension between characters such as Silverbolt and Black Arachnia, was NOT about Rhinox "interfacing" with Optimal Optimus. Or better yet, Dinobot's "undying love" for Rattrap. It was a story about a crew of misfits out to save the history of their homeland from Megatron and forces they couldn't hope to understand. It's an exploration of characters. It is a children's TV program that explored adult situations such as death, love, and war and is probably one of the greatest influences of my childhood. How dare you untalented little girls and boys take my heroes and turn them into sex fiends.

I am sure many people have felt similar with many of their favorite series, and I feel bad for them. But let's not get all righteous. I don't really care for it, but it doesn't mean it doesn't have its places. And by all means, have at it. Though I don't see how taking characters OUT of character just to write some dirty shit is at all necessary for every damn movie and t.v. show out there. Sure, when it's some anime where all it is is tension between pretty boys and girls, go ahead and write to your heart's content about it. Just... leave my Maximals alone.

This weekend I went through part of Phoenix on a mission that involved high risk and stupid people. We prevailed in the end, thanks mostly to my wingman Cone.

I don't think I have ever felt closer to Mandy than I do now. Her and I are both very excited to be partying this weekend with you people, so in case you have forgotten:

Party, Party, I like to Party...
11th!
