The Capps - Chapter 2

(If you're new, start with the PROLOGUE.)

No matter how many times before Hermia reassured Juliet that there was nothing wrong with 'omitting to report the finer details of their outings,' as she called it, everything about it was still very, very wrong in Juliette's eyes. Strictly speaking, they weren't lying - they really were going to another diner party at Summerdreams' house, and Titania and Oberon really were going be there, but that was hardly the whole story, and hardly the part which would interest Consort the most. Lie or no lie, Juliette was betraying her grandfather's trust, and it was killing her.

Hermia caught a reflection of her sister's grim face in the mirror and rolled her eyes. Juliette always worried about too much, always wanted to please too many people, and, while Hermia was sympathetic towards her sister's appeasing nature, she was also increasingly annoyed by it.

"Stop feeling bad, Jules. We're not doing anything wrong," she said half in reassurance, half in annoyance.

"I didn't say anything!" Juliette replied harsher than she intended. Well-meaning as it was, she was tired of being given the same pep-talk which was neither true, nor helpful.

"You didn't have to say anything, it's all over your face. For Bella's sake, we're going to a diner party, not on a murder spree!"

"I know. I'm okay." There's no point in trying to explain it to Hermia, Juliette thought, she never felt guilty about anything.

"Let's move it then."

As they walked out into the hallway, they heard the familiar muffled noises coming from Tybalt's room.

"Maybe we should ask him to come with us?" Juliette whispered looking at Tybalt's door.

"Maybe we shouldn't." Hermia sharply replied. "He wouldn't want to come anyway," she added dismissively, this time remembering to stay quiet.

"Then there's no harm in telling him he's invited. Titania keeps asking for him, I feel so bad lying to her."

"Listen," Hermia pointed toward the door, "he's punching that bag all the time, and you know it's only because there's no one else around to punch instead."

"I know, I know. It's just... he's always alone."

"Well, that's what happens when you're a borderline-homicidal maniac."

"He's not a maniac!"

"Riiight."

"He just lashes out because," because he's in pain, Juliette wanted to explain, but she knew Hermia wouldn't even try to understand.

"We should get going," after a pause she said instead.

After dinner everyone went upstairs to Puck's room, but Juliette quietly slipped away into the garden instead. She walked over to the farthest bench, sat down, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Instantly, all the jumbled feelings of shame, guilt, worry, hope and excitement that have been consuming her for days got washed away by the warm, gentle breeze. There's something magical about this breeze, she thought. It seemed to her it was always there in the garden, just chilly enough in the summers, just warm enough even when everything was covered in snow. The comfort and bliss she felt every time she was there didn't seem too natural to her either. She was too busy contemplating the magical properties of the Summerdreams' garden to notice Romeo approaching her.

"There you are," he said, taking her out of her thoughts.

"I just came out to get some air," she replied with a meek smile.

"I've looked all over for you," he said, looking her straight in the eyes with that look of his that made her weak at the knees, "this party sucks without you."

He sat down next to her and stretched his arm across the back of the bench behind her. Sitting so close to him, surrounded by the beauty of the Summerdreams' garden, she realized her boldest dreams were coming true before her eyes. That realization made Juliette swallow so hard, for a moment she was sure her half-deaf grandfather back at home could hear her. She didn't care. The feelings of fear and guilt that plagued her every time she dared to imagine moments such as these were long gone, and she was dizzy with excitement, ready for her dreams to become a reality.

She squeezed Romeo's hand and with a weak smile turned her head towards his. He smiled back at her, freed his hand from hers and run it trough her hair caressing her cheek on the way down. He started leaning in for the kiss, and for a split second Juliette freezed in surprise, before feeling his lips on hers and his tongue in her mouth. With her eyes closed tight, she responded, barely aware of even doing so.

I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! Juliette wanted to shout, but the years of soaking up love advices from WhooNoo made her stay quiet. Play it cool, she repeated their popular advice in her head.

"Maybe we should go back, they'll wonder where we are." The moment those words left Juliette's lips, she desperately wanted to take them back. She didn't want to go back! She wanted to stay exactly where she was, preferably forever.

"I think we could stay a little while longer," Romeo said stilling her with his hand on her waist.

"Okay!" Juliette eagerly agreed. She wasn't one to push her luck, or to repeat the same mistake twice.

"I love you!" she blurted out, words bursting out of her almost against her will.

The moment of silence after she uttered those words seemed to go on forever.

"I love you too," Romeo replied before kissing her again.

"Guys, you have got to come see this," Puck called for his friends in disbelief. He was looking at the most exciting happening in his garden since that werewolf stumbled in and started stealing apples a few weeks ago.

Neither Mercutio nor Hermia showed any intention to move. "What is it?" Hermia asked.

"Just come, quickly!" he urged.

"Just say what it is, Sim vs. Gnome is starting," Mercutio said without taking his eyes of the TV.

"Is another werewolf smelling your flowers?" Hermia mocked.

"I think he was smelling apples," Mercutio corrected.

"It's your sister making out with your brother, actually," Puck said, pointing at each of them as he spoke.

This prompted both teenagers to jump up from the bed and run up to the window.

"About gothdamn time!" Hermia exclaimed.

"We should have a party!" Mercutio chimed in.

"This is a party," Puck said unimpressed.

"Well, where are the drinks then, Puck? Where are the crackers? I want more of that magic fairy juice, myself."

"I told you last time, that nectar has nothing to do with magic or fairies."

"Fascinating information, but do you have any?" Hermia cut in.

Both of Puck's friends grinned at him with uncharacteristic coyness.

Puck sighed, "I'll go get the 'magic fairy juice'."

"And the cranberry jam, Puck!" Hermia shouted after him.

"Maybe it's time we tell him the truth about the 'werewolf' incident," Mercutio suggested.

"Nah," Hermia shrugged him off returning to the TV, "trust me, when Pack's concerned, ignorance is bliss."

a/n: The events at Summerdreams' house were supposed to be taking place at sunset, hence the weird lighting. I'm not sure if that's coming across.
WhooNoo was a magazine about celbrities, style and romance in Sims 1. I see it as a simlish Cosmo. :D
I'm using 'Bella Goth' in places we'd say 'Jesus' or 'god'. I always thought there were parallels between her and Jesus, and I couldn't decide what to do about religion in sim-world, so I just decided to roll with this for now. :D I'm sorry if this is offensive to anyone (it's not, right?, I'm really bad at gauging when I'm being offensive about religion).
Also, shooting on huge lots with huge houses and huge gardens is TEARING ME APART!!! Seriously, it is not pleasant.

the capps, story chapter, good news everyone!
