Audio Sketches
I was hoping to be in bed by midnight tonight, but iTunes is taking an unusually long time to rip my George Crumb CD. From what I've heard so far, I'm not going to be a George Crumb fan, but you never know. Sometimes a good listen with good headphones makes all the difference. I've been sketching a lot in my music-line Moleskine notebook. Right now, I'm just writing out passages that I've been playing on guitars, bassi and piani for years, but the plan (the extremely hopeful plan at that) is to continue writing these fragments out until I get so comfortable with the relationships between the notes and phrases that I am able to write down the passages that I hear in my head AS I think of them -- without touching an instrument.
