my mother
i have been sheparding my mother around the past couple of weeks and if she doesn't say the darnedest things? hallelujah!
today for instance, i was toting her to the post office when she said
"It's a whale day, look at the clouds, I always like to see what animal spirit is guiding the day"
and then she added "I also like to see what kind of animal the hurricane patterns make...some of them are vicious"
at that point I laughed because I was surprised that this a) wasn't coming from me and b) wasn't coming from a 5 year old and c) it's fucking cute.
and then Robin got a little defensive "NO, reeally. Look at the patterns next time. Some of the animals look prehistoric"
