Peeking My Head Out...
Hey f-listers-
I just thought I'd swing by here and say hey.
So... here is a minor annoyance of mine... I hate it when frickin Hollywood thinks they can improve on a classic. On Wed. night I watched the latest version of Persuasion.
They chopped everything up, and added stuff that wasn't part of the novel. UMM... Sorry Hollywood- YOU AIN'T GOT NOTHING ON JANE AUSTIN! There was a much better version made in 1995 with Amanda Root and Ciar'an Hinds.
P&P is my favorite novel of all time, but Persuasion runs a close second! I just hate to see someone screw it up!
The sad thing is that the acting was pretty good. The photography was stupendous! It really should have been a much better movie!
I have been watching more movies, and reading lately. You know... with all that free time I have from NOT WRITING *smirks*
I finally caught up on the Janet Evanovich- Stephanie Plum novels. Lean Mean Thirteen was Totally AWESOME! I was driving my family crazy from all the Laughing I was doing! Fearless Fourteen was good, but not by comparison. I do HATE the fact that she seems to be phasing out Ranger. I AM A RANGER GIRL!! I lOVE Joe, but.... COME ON!
I did write a short Yang/ Hunt one shot. It dawned on me recently how different I am with this show than I was with Bones. I was just way too invested in Bones! Hence... my total and complete melt down. The thing about GA is that I don't really LIKE the SHOW very much. There are just too many stupid plotlines, and most of the characters are just a bit STUPID!! But I do LOVE this couple!!! I LOVE- LOVE- LOVE them!! They are giving me exactly what I need! Did anyone see "THE VENT"? OMG... MY HEART MELTED!! I LOVE Dr. Owen Hunt!!
Oh yeah... BTW... I don't even watch Bones anymore! Con Man in the Meth Lab was it for me. It WAS the straw that BROKE this camels back!
So... anyway... everything is good. I'm ready for Christmas to be here... or at least the 19th. I have 2 weeks off. Most of my shopping is done, which is really good considering I didn't have anything done at Thanksgiving.
Hubby and kids are doing well!
Work.... well... like I said, I have two weeks off coming- YaY!!! I SOOOOOOOO... NEED IT!!
