Whoohoo, FINALS ARE NOW OVER for me!! 8DDDDDDDD *holds up a wine glass (filled with apple juice i.e. still underage)...woozily*
Just finished off three finals in the last 24 hours, one Tuesday afternoon and two back-to-back this morning/afternoon (yeah, it went over my lunchtime, meanies :x) and...hooboy, my first reaction was, "Oh man oh man what do I do next?! *bounce bounce*" Still on adrenaline rush I guess! But anyway, I think I'll have something else to eat (I did have something to eat between the finals yes, just well not quite enough to tide me over entirely XD;;) and...wonder what I'm going to do next! 8D;;
...Nothing that requires brain, mind you. I used my MP where it counts and so I have very little to spare atm. @_@ Maybe I'll watch something.
Oh! Like Stellvia! :D Or the
Baccano show dubbed streaming on ANN that I told
haleysings about yesterday! *_* (Already watched it subbed in anime club before, can't WAIT to see it dubbed, been wanting to rewatch that show and the dubbed is supposed to be amazing ^o^) Maaaaybe Pandora Hearts, but we're watching that next semester, so...(but then again we're only going to be able to watch half of it and that's missing more than half the awesome D:)
Ah, that's right! Need to report back on the results of the anime club voting on the Friday after Thanksgiving break~ *v*
So, bottom line here's the list--
* Pandora Hearts
* Guin Saga
* Tatakau Shisho - Book of Bantorra
* Bakemonogatari
* Aoi Bungaku
* Shigurui
Sadly, most of the suggestions I got from you guys didn't get in D: (Though,
dyxlisa did suggest Guin Saga and apparently it was popular! And for those of you wondering, I actually did not suggest Princess Tutu this semester -- solely because I'm going to wait for next Fall semester so we have a chance at watching all 26 episodes over the year by a second vote-in for the next season :3) Some other ones that weren't nixed right off the bat though included Toaru Majutsu no Index, Ef - a tale of memories, RahXephon, Needless, and Basquash. (In fact, Basquash was the last one eliminated to get this list XP) Though, in fact several of the ones I sent in didn't even make the ballot, but I blame this on the fact that I kinda inundated the prez with my List of Doom XDXD But it was different from previous voting sessions in that instead of being touted by their suggester, the prez would show the trailer up on the screen after a brief ANN-ish blurb on the premise (thus, we had to have them sent in ahead of time so she could prep all this -- kudos for doing all that work!)
Pandora Hearts was pretty dang popular since it seemed to have a good trailer (yes it seemed like the music lured them in~ go go Yuki Kajiura!) and Guin Saga -- I was surprised kind of that people liked it that much, but I heard from a fellow member sitting elsewhere in the crowd that it was because
this guy reminded people of a character in Tekken XDXD;; Oh well...at least they're getting what they bargained for? He's a central chara as I understand it :3
As for the others...Bantorra, even I wasn't quite sure why I voted for it; the trailer looked interesting? 8D;; Bakemonogatari and Shigurui weren't my thing, they're gory and gritty, and the former is vampires and the latter is samurai, neither of which interest me that much. Aoi Bungaku seemed to touch on the club's taste for artsy stuff; it didn't even have a proper trailer to display, the prez just showed the show's official site on the screen with screenshots and character profiles and stuff -- it was mainly the thing about how it was based on a set of short stories. Like I said, artsy XP
But y'know, I've been in anime club for enough semesters to have a little faith in the unknown. Sometimes shows you think look interesting end up being incredibly blah (I'm looking at you, Library Wars), and conversely ones that seem like total flops end up being awesome (Detroit Metal City I found HILARIOUS. And that definitely was not love at first sight XDXD) So I'll wait and see!
Actually I have more to say than this, as I've been typing up my impressions of the shows that we watched this Fall 2009 semester, but I'm ending up being waaaaaaay too longwinded on them as usual and so I'll just post this part for now and post the rest later when I have it all written up. XP
