Hm. If the universe is so deadset in favor of me seeing the new transformers movie, I should probably see the first one at some point.
Also, what the shit, hollywood? I haven't wanted to watch anything you've been turning out for ages, then all of a sudden you're releasing a whole bunch in a row (by which I mean, like, 3 across a 9 month period)??
Alice in Wonderland, done by Tim Burton, with Disney peering over his shoulder keeping his greyscale in check. Music by Danny Elfman instead of a crappy rehash from the crappy 50's animated version. New plot that's more of a followup to the two books so it's not required to be bound by any previous version. It's probably too much to hope for a narration dubbed overtop making the same sort of well-placed sarcastic comments that made the original books for me, but ehn, with a movie those're still pretty good odds than what I was hoping when I first heard Burton was redoing Alice in Wonderland and thought it was McGee's (which I'd still love to see, just not by him, 'cause he'd probably get carried away with the bloodsplatter and not enough creepy; see also, Sweeney Todd).
PS, as I'm not much for or against the original Sherlock Holmes, I don't have much in the way of an opinion about whether or not
this coming attraction is a travesty. However, if the second plot keyword holds true, I would like to see that with all speed, plz.
