Exploring my artistic potential
Ok I’m going to start this entry with a two sketches that I did a few weeks ago.
The one on the left (water) is Key (Keysan) and the one one the right (fire) is Dekeve. I don’t know if I’ll finish these or not. I just felt like drawing water. I drew Key because water is her element and because she has made me free art, so I thought I'd draw her something. The water one was drawn first, then I drew the fire one for the heck of it. Dekeve's face looks really off.
Anyway, lately I've been getting this vibe to try some new things art related.
1.Sculpting
I have two 1 lb boxes of Super Sculpey, that I bought some time ago. However, I have not had a chance to use it. I have sculpted using ceramic clay, but not polymer clay, so I want to try it. The problem is I need to buy armature wire, but I have no idea what gauge wire I should start out with. I really need to ask around.
2.Scratchborad
I bought a "Creating with Clayboard" starter kit back in December. It comes with a small piece of black clayboard, a scratch knife, a pattern, and illustrated instructions. It has been sitting around in my closet for weeks. I like to buy some white transfer paper to transfer the pattern on the the board. It says I can just rub chalk on the back of the paper, but I think that is just a mess. I might just break down and do it anyway, we'll see. It just looks cool.
3.Jewelry (Metal Casting)
I've done this before in my Sculpture class. I have all the materials, I just need to get off my lazy butt and do it. Well, I actually want to wait until the weather gets warmer, so that I can be outside when I pour the metal and so the plaster molds will set right.
4.Animation
Ok I’m working with Flash for my Studio class. But I’d also like to do some paper and pencil stuff as well, so hopefully I’ll stop being lazy soon and regain my drawing muse.
So hopefully this stuff will be showing up soon.
I’ve also been making an inventory list of all my art suppies (except my prismacolor colored pencils, because there are 120 of those suckers) I’m doing this so I can get rid of extra stuff I don’t need or so I won’t buy something I already have. I hope to sell and/or donate the stuff I don’t want.
I’m hoping over the next few weeks to pull out some of the supplies and try them out. Almost all of my real media supplies was bought for a class, it a real shame that I don’t use them for more than just that. I’ll probably do some ACEO cards, because I have a lot of pre-cut ones now and they don’t take very long to do.
I also need to take pictures of my Drawing II series, my first real experance with pastels (which I love). So yeah a lot of stuff on my mind.
