Homestuck: And Only One Blanket by Laylah - I always figured one of the first Homestuck fics I read would be John/Karkat, since I got so hooked on that pairing. But I was browsing this collection, saw Homestuck fic, clicked out of curiosity, and oh Rose and Kanaya! Yes! Do want! And this was lovely, it had great character voices for both of them and such delightful attraction between the two and even the hilarious meta-esque touches to the narrative, which are perfect for this fandom. Ugh, I may have flailed a little irl at the end of this, because it was so cute. (Rose/Kanaya.)
Misfits: Maybe We by redbrunja - I'm still totally gone on Simon/Alisha and this fic just put me right back in that space, with Simon trying to learn parkour and not being very good at it yet, but somehow it's okay even when he's scraped to hell and touch is still so new for both of them and this was just. Absolutely perfect. A short piece, but so them that it was wonderful. (Simon/Alisha, NSFW.)
Naruto: Discretion Assured by Laylah - anenko pointed this fic out to me, intriguing me with the promise of Ibiki/Anko/Iruka, which caught my attention. For all that this is a short fic that doesn't really do a lot of showing the three of them in an actual relationship, it's still filled with all these lovely little details and hints of their characters, which makes it somehow just really work for me. I love this Iruka, who fits so well with the responsible personality he has, but also touches on the brattiness that you know is still somewhere inside of him. I love the premise of this and the writing is lovely, that is all I need. You know. Aside from MOAR PLZ. (Ibiki/Anko/Iruka.)
Naruto: floated on heat by torch - One of the best things about Kakashi in the Naruto fandom is that he's kind of a jerk. An endearing jerk, but still kind of a jerk. And yet you can still take him seriously as a ninja, even when he's being kind of a fruitloop, like he is here. And poor, put-upon Iruka and yet somehow, even when Kakashi is touching him inappropriately during a mission, you can understand why he's with Kakashi. This might be a short piece, but it was delightfully fun for their dynamic. (Kakashi/Iruka, NSFW.)
Naruto: Fear Me by redbrunja - anenko was kind enough to point this piece out, knowing that I have a real weakness for Iruka/Anko and this short fic really fed into that, hard. Because it's not limited to just being fluffy or cracked out, there are real things you could play with between them and this piece touches on those, the way Iruka scares her in a way that other things never have, but probably in a good way? Oh, if only this fandom were larger, I could make this a regular pairing that I would like to read always. (Iruka/Anko, NSFW.)
Naruto: Nobody's Sin by yamikinoko - Another fic anenko linked and, this time, it's more of an Anko-centric piece with several references to various Anko ships, but it's an interesting look at her character and the rough edges of her, the way she sees herself and the rest of Konoha, the way she is and isn't affected by the way others see her. Though, as a bonus, it ends with Iruka/Anko and I could definitely do with more of that in fandom! (Iruka/Anko.)
Naruto: Sketchy by singeivoire - I'm still making my way through anenko's recs for Iruka fic and, oh, oh, this one hit me just perfect. Iruka makes Konohamaru apologize for a drawing that he did during Shizune's guest lecture in front of the class and Iruka's life is so freaking hard sometimes and I could not contain my flails of delight and laughter. It's so cute! And so fun! And so hilarious! And so darling! It made me love everyone (especially, oh, Tsunade is wonderful) just all the more and it's such a cute scene with Iruka and Shizune that it intrigued me for more on them. It's not really about a ship, it's almost more of a gen thing, but it works perfectly for that. (Mostly gen, a hint of Iruka/Shizune potential.)
Ouran Koukou Host Club: Postcard Worthy by yamikinoko - I suspect this is one of those fics that will really only appeal to already established Kyouya/Haruhi fans, but that definitely includes me, so this was a cute, sweet little fic that filled my urge for this pairing today. It's a simple thing, just a few meetings between the two of them, as they're adults and into their own careers now, and it's not big, sweeping romance, because that's not them. Instead, it's quieter and more subtle, which fit nicely with the two of them. (Kyouya/Haruhi.)
Ouran Koukou Host Club: One Delectable Treat by yamikinoko - This is another cute piece, which is actually more about Haruhi and the Host Club's antics around Halloween (though, it's more about the candy than the holiday) and the Kyouya/Haruhi is just very quietly in the background, but that actually worked out the best for me. It's a short fic, but it didn't need to be longer and it was a good one for these two. (Half gen, a little Kyouya/Haruhi implied.)
Parks and Rec: Far From Armageddon by gloss - So, I decided to tackle the cuddling meme. I need more cuddling in my life and I saw a P&R one and had to at least start it! And, oh, be still my heart. Ann and Leslie just falling asleep on her and their amazing friendship and there's just so much love and adoration here and it was perfect. This is why cuddlememes are made!! (This is gen, but you could read Ann/Leslie into it, too.)
Parks and Rec: What to Expect When Expecting by Lexie - The summary of this fic is: "So we're going to have a kid or whatever," April says, and the entire office comes to a standstill. It's just so perfect that I had to read it and, oh, this fic is absolutely delightful. It's a great ensemble piece, each character is solidly and amazingly written, both individually and as a group, and there are so many moments that are just spot on with the show. And, oh, the ending is perfect and just-- I cannot say enough or keyboard mash hard enough over this fic. (Some April/Andy, but it's only half the point, this is an ensemble piece.)
Psych: Hardly Working by bring_me_sugar - In any fandom, there is hardly enough of dudes going down on ladies, much less hardly enough sexytimes for Lassiter/O'Hara, much less hardly enough fic for them in the first place. This one jumps straight into the sexytimes, it's one of those pieces that's for established already fans of the ship, but it was a nice treat to come across this morning, when I was going through the older Porn Battle posts. And I definitely enjoyed the feeling of how partnered they were here, that's always nice. (Lassiter/O'Hara, NC-17.)
Sherlock: The(y) kiss by methimyesterday - Oh, I really liked this! It's not even a thousand words long, but it didn't need to be any longer than it already was, because it's a piece about Sherlock and John's first kiss, but with a lovely meta edge to it. It's difficult to explain in a rec, why it's so good or why the feel of the writing hit me just perfectly. But I definitely liked this one a lot and the emotionalfeels it gave me. (Sherlock/John.)
Sherlock: The Yearly Revolution (Winter) by methimyesterday - I realize this is the first part of a four-part series, shut up, I do what I want. And I am rapidly becoming very fond of this author, because this piece is so lovely, both in the writing and the way Sherlock's character is approached. The writer seems to balance an analytical style (well, Sherlock's personality is probably a better way to put it) with an almost poetic (without being purple) style of writing, giving me a fic that has Sherlock watching John, almost examining him, but it's all so very pretty. There was a section in the middle, of about three paragraphs, that I very nearly tried to pull a quote from, but was unable to because I realized I wanted to quote it all, it was so perfect. I love when fic can get me to do feel that way. (Sherlock/John.)
Sherlock: Deductions by Speranza - I picked up this link because I was hoping for cuddling (since it's part of the Canadian Shack collection), but instead actually got some light sexytimes and I think... I was okay with them. I really enjoyed the author's way of writing the characters, the sense of a mystery being solved that leads into that bit of euphoria of a solved case which leads into something more, but still with the analytical nature and humor of the show. It's not terribly graphic, but it made me laugh and made me feel ~*emotions*~ for the characters and Sherlock's moment of realization re: John's feelings was pretty great. (Sherlock/John, around an R or so, definitely NSFW.)
Sherlock: Safe, if not (yet) Sound by pollitt - More Canadian Shack fic! And, oh, this one was delightful with a moment towards the end that had me laughing wildly. (Thank god it was late at night, lest I have to explain why I was shoving my hand across my face because a line in a fanfic hit me just perfectly.) But any fic with this summary-- It takes an astounding 18 minutes for Sherlock to drop onto the couch and declare "bored."--certainly promised a lot. It's short, there was less physical contact than I might have hoped for, but it was so delightfully, joyfully hilarious that I loved it exactly the way it was. ♥ (Sherlock/John.)
Sherlock: Indubitably by pollitt - This was another short piece, but one I really liked. The writing was lovely, the little touches with the way Sherlock put his hand on John's, the way he analyzed a situation and repeated his findings, even in this, but without being too cold about it, it all really worked for me here. Plus, kissing! Kissing that I liked! Fantastic. (Sherlock/John.)
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: Baby I'm A Star - This video is pretty much three minutes of Carlton dancing to a Prince song, but it's in the amazing editing of the clips, the quick pace, and the way everything matches where it really shines. It's a perfect blend of joyful dancing (which is always fun) and hilarity and it's just so good natured and celebratory that I came away feeling amazing after this vid!
Ao no Exorcist: Moon Hidden in the Rain - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] So. I didn't set out to find Yukio/Rin doujinshi, just that I was going through the comm's archive for T&B doujinshi, when I stumbled over this one... and it had a pretty cover... and I'm weak to twincest... sorry.... But, in my defense, the cover is really gorgeous (omg, the colorssss) and the art is very cute and it's a short story where Yukio walks in on Rin masturbating and his last shred of sanity snaps as Rin is... well, Rin. I laughed at the end of the doujinshi, too, which was far less creepy than I thought it was going to be. It was actually kind of cute? ....I know! Sorry. Twincest is a weakness. (Yukio/Rin, NC-17.)
Bleach Doujinshi (raw): untitled - Of course I'm always interested any time an Ichigo/Orihime doujinshi gets posted and I really liked the cover of this one a lot! I wish the artist's style inside had been a bit more like this, but... well, even if it's short and a little messy, the actual content was SUPER CUTE OMG. I will never get enough of Ichigo having ~*day dreams*~ about Orihime in frilly underthings or sliding out of them and embarrassing himself by just those thoughts alone. I love it for the ship, of course, but also just because sometimes I really love Ichigo kind of a ridiculous amount. ♥ (Ichigo/Orihime, somewhere between R and NC-17.)
Fullmetal Alchemist Doujinshi (scanlated): Promised Land - Oh, godammit. I thought I left FMA behind years ago! But then I see RoyEd doujinshi by IDEA and I'm just sucked right back in! And, yeah, yeah, sorry, I imprinted on this ship and I'll probably never let it go, certainly not when I get beautiful work like this that punches me right in the fangirl heart. I love the dream-like quality of this, the meeting under the sakura tree, the way not everything has to be spelled out, the undercurrent of feelings in everything. It's such a sad piece and yet it's bittersweet, too, and the art is beautiful, I absolutely love IDEA's style. It's a tragic piece, but such a gorgeous tragedy, set post-anime and all the more heartbreaking for it. Hell, even the sexytimes weren't really the point, but were woven in nicely and were just so pretty in this style. (Roy/Ed, about an R. At the very least NSFW.)
Fullmetal Alchemist Doujinshi (scanlated): Frozen - More of IDEA punching me in the fangirl heart. I was expecting RoyEd from the cover (which is stunning, by the way), but this is actually more of a gen piece with Ed and Al, post-anime in that other world, where things are bittersweet, but not necessarily tragic. There's one line especially from Alphons that really hits hard, but mostly this is just a melancholy piece with IDEA's gorgeous artwork to really bring it home. I love the use of Ed cooking and how it turns out, how he uses it to create a place for this Alphonse, just. Way to get to me. ;__; (No real warnings/pairings.)
Fullmetal Alchemist Doujinshi (scanlated): Mute - If this had been anther doujinshika, I may have passed on it, despite the great scenes with Roy in them, but... well, it's IDEA and I love her work a lot. After an explosion in town, Ed's lost his hearing for awhile, which means he and Al can't communicate, since there are no lips to read, and it's a painful time for both of them. It's probably meant to be at least somewhat Al/Ed, but I found that it worked pretty well as a gen piece, too. Setting it from Al's point of view, how lost and alone and nonexistant he feels when he can't convey anything to Ed is heartbreaking and lovely, in that way that IDEA has. I wound up enjoying it a lot more than I might have expected to! (I took this as gen, but it could be Al/Ed, too.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw): unknown by RAKUEN - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. There are multiple doujinshi posted here, this is a rec for the first one.] I know, I know. But you can deal with multiple recs leading to the same page because I'm going to post them all at once and I'll probably keep them short. So, the first on on this list of doujinshi caught my attention because, oh, that cover looked interesting! And Gokudera is wearing glasses, do want, thank you! And the color pages (of Gokudera/Tsuna and G/Giotto) are gorgeous. The rest of the art is solid, bordering on very pretty at times, with lots of angsting characters and the usual BL-style sex. I actually wound up enjoying this one for the glassesssss and Giotto with his pretty face and half-undone shirt. The sex was a little too crying for me this time around. Generally, I'm not as fussed, but there's something about doing it to Tsuna that makes me rather :/ about it and it doesn't help that my preferred dynamic for them isn't matched here. But the art is pretty and I liked several aspects of it, so! Onto the recs pile it goes! :D (Gokudera/Tsuna and G/Giotto, NC-17.)

Gokudera being a complete and utter dork around Tsuna, who has the most adorable EEEHHHH!? faces, and the two of them being totally fucking adorable together! And Gokudera in glasses! The whole thing is, like, pure, concentrated adorableness and Gokudera being full of feelings and NOBODY is a smooth fucker and Gokudera tries singing to Tsuna and ugh. So much adorable that I can hardly stand it. The art is adorable, it's got these really soft, lovely lines to it but also knows how to rock a chibi face and the sex finally started because Tsuna just shoved Gokudera down onto the sofa and kissed him! There are multiple doujinshi posted here, this is a rec for the third one.] Well. Considering there's Gokudera and Tsuna on the cover with animal ears, I was pretty sure I was going to like this one. And then the doujinshi gave me Tsuna sleeping with Uri curled up in his arms and Gokudera acting like a cat and Hibari wandering through to be completely un-fucking-impressed and then Gokudera sleeping with Uri to Tsuna acting like a cat and kissing and everything is wonderful in this. Also, bonus use of that Gokudera anime frame of terrible animation that became a meme in Japan, used in hilarious ways. Nothing about this didn't make me smile. (Gokudera/Tsuna, a little NSFW.)

Pretty much everything in this is super adorable and there's bonus appearances by Hibari and Yamamoto and Reborn, which delighted me, too. Seeing bird!Gokudera become part of Tsuna's every day life, man, if that can't make you smile, I'm not sure we will ever truly understand each other. ♥ (Sort of Gokudera/Tsuna.)

The doujinshi is pretty much one big excuse to draw a rather long (and graphic) Gokudera/Tsuna sexytimes scene (with a little more crying than I'd like, again) but the art is really pretty and adult!Reborn continues to be super hot, so I'm shoving this one onto the recs list again. :D (Gokudera/Tsuna, NC-17.)

There are multiple doujinshi posted here, this is a rec for the sixth one.] I think a lot of what makes me so easy on this doujinshi, is that it has a very The Daily Life-era feel to it, where everything was chaotic but kind of sweet. There's a lot of adorableness between Gokudera and Tsuna here, plus solid roles for Tsuna's mother and Reborn in the story and it's always nice to see them interacting with other characters. The art is a little rough, but it still captures that early manga feel that I'm easy on and the sexytimes were kind of sweet again, too. (Gokudera/Tsuna, NC-17.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw): ひとつ屋根の下で и ひと夏の思い出 - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. There are multiple doujinshi posted here, this is a rec for the seventh/final one.] I can't say I know wtf is going on in this doujinshi, but it's a long one at almost 90 pages and I'm rather fond of Harapekomushi's style--which I keep feeling like she could use just a tiny bit more heavier inking, but also the lighter inking keeps the art feeling very light and almost sort of airy. This style actually works much better with her color art, which is absolutely lovely. She also does some really adorable chibis and her Gokudera is pretty darn hot and there are some close-ups where you can see her art is just gorgeous and really professional level quality. Also, there's a great moment of Gokudera spraying himself in the face with a garden hose and I just. I will love any doujinshi that has a moment like that in it. p.s. Doujinshi (scanlated): Kanmidokoro - [Note: This post is locked, bu the comm is freely joinable.] I always enjoy Peeco?'s artwork and stories, even when they're only 11 pages long and kinda random like this one. It's literally, Dino gets back to Japan, Hibari sends him off to get ice cream, Hibari has a weird dream, Dino comes back, they spar, then Dino carries him off. That's it. But it's adorably drawn, Hibari is delightfully stone-faced as always, and Hibari's batshit dream is fantastic, I will never, ever get tired of it! I enjoyed this a lot. ♥ (Dino/Hibari.)
Sailor Moon Doujinshi (scanlated): Delicate Planet - [Note: There are multiple doujinshi on this page, just Ctrl+F for 'Delicate Planet' for this recommendation.] Oh, MamoUsa doujinshi is so very rare to find, it feels like. But I absolutely adored this one, for getting the atmosphere between them down so beautifully. There's something almost dream-like about this storyline, even aside from Usagi's dream of being alone, feeling like he was so far away (which is a lovely reference to Serenity and Endymion without being too obvious about it), yet still carrying such an intense feeling between them. I love how there's no one else in the world for them while they're together, how much love and cherishing there is between them, how beautiful everything is when Usagi spends the night and Mamoru is drawn to her, comforting her after her nightmare and wanting more with her. The art is very cute, occasionally really lovely and a few moments definitely reminded me of the manga itself, but it's the storyline and the gorgeous characterization that are spot on with the manga and, oh, every time Mamoru and Usagi touch each other, it's perfect. Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Candy Man - [Note: The website that indexes this doujinshi is very NSFW, it's a porn site, so be careful!] inkstone mentioned this doujinshi and then linked to it and I was curious enough to read (after browsing through the comments and laughing at the adorableness of the reactions to a yaoi doujin on a hentai website), just intending to skim, because I was curious how the Barnaby/Kotetsu would be played, since it's properly a Keith/Kotetsu doujinshi. But it's the first part of a series and it'll likely have Barnaby/Kotetsu as endgame, so I'm totally onboard with this. And, oh, this was such fun! The art is lovely and the humor is totally hilarious and I love pretty much everyone in this story! Kotetsu is adorable drunk and passed out and pouty and sullen when something's bothering him and Antonio is the put-upon best friend who tries to be the sane one except SOMETIMES IT IS REALLY HARD OKAY and Keith is just cheerfully cheerful and Barnaby might actually be developing feelings and the porn is super hot and just. THIS is what I wanted from fandom! MOAR PLZ. (Keith/Kotetsu, assumed Barnaby/Kotetsu endgame but it's barely hinted at here, AND BOY IS IT NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Boku no Yome - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] There are some things in any given fandom that I just have come around on knowing that I enjoy them. And one of those things is total hilarity of two people having just gotten married, enjoying newlywed life, and then their daughter comes skipping in and likes the new parent better. I laughed so hard at the sheer delight of Kaede liking Barnaby better than her dad, how UTTERLY ADORABLE the scenes of ALL THREE OF THEM were (seriously, the three of them sleeping in a pile? holy shit, do want do want do want) and, whatever, I'm weak to that kind of cuteness. There's also some Barnaby/Kotetsu sexytimes, which I appreciated, but are pretty skippable (if you just want family hilarity, you can read this and then stop once Barnaby hauls Kotetsu off, you won't miss anything after that) and I definitely enjoyed the humor most of all. (If you stop before the end, this is pretty tame, but otherwise there's an NC-17 Barnaby/Kotetsu sexytimes scene.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Ore no Yome - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] I believe this is actually the first in this series (though, I read it after Boku no Yome and found they both stood pretty well on their own), so it's more newlywed life for Barnaby and Kotetsu and I continue to be at that point in my fannish career where I find this hilarious. It's Barnaby who's the "housewife" in this doujinshi and the hilarity comes from his total lack of maturity, even while still being relatively proper. Except for the part where he breaks down walls and picks up Kotetsu to cart him off or literally tosses Kotetsu over his shoulder or uses olive oil on Kotetsu inappropriately. Other than that? Totally smooth. Really. I was pleased with the art, too, it's solid and the doujinshika (with a few exceptions) has a strong sense for the layouts and details. It's very clean and smooth and she occasionally gets in some great expressions, which I appreciated a lot. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Love is Blind - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] Well, so this doujinshi just hit me straight in the fangirl heart. It's more doujinshi-esque in style (slightly messier lines, less clean inking, an airier feeling to it, etc.) but I really, really like this artist's style, it's pretty without losing the T&B feel to it. And, oh, the characterization! It's pretty much just a straightforward storyline--Barnaby asks if Kotetsu will have sex with him, they decide to try it out, then there's feelings bombs all over the place--but it's in the way the doujinshika does it that's lovely. Barnaby is still figuring himself out, Kotetsu is struck by those first explorations of his feelings and touched by Barnaby's feelings for him, and just, ugh, it didn't even need to have full on sexytimes (though, they're implied, of course) for it to be one of my new favorites. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, R-rated or so.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Fish Drowning in the Ocean - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join. There are multiple doujinshi posted on this post, the one I'm recommending is the second one down.] This is another doujinshi that just got me, right in the fangirl heart. Barnaby gets Kotetsu to talk, pointing out that he's certainly meddlesome enough in others' lives, he should talk more about his own troubles, which leads to talk of Tomoe and Kotetsu's life and reasons for being a hero and the emotions are just really nicely done. I love that Barnaby is still exploring his own interactions with people, that he's not smooth at it yet, but he still does it, and it makes me ship this ship all that much harder. And I also really liked the way the sex and the talk was intertwined, the way conversation was woven into the bedroom scene, it made it that much more satisfying on both fronts. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Again - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] This is one of those doujinshi I wonder if I was just dropped in medias res or if it's a part of a longer series, but I found that I didn't really matter, I could still read it just fine as a stand alone story. It's short, it's a moment in time, years into the future, where Kotetsu attends a party for Barnaby, sees Barnaby's wife for the first time, they spot each other, go off to a hotel room, fuck, and realize they love each other. It sounds pointless and/or kind of dumb, but it's the way the doujinshika writes the emotions and somehow makes it work for me, she captures this moment in time between them that I love. The art is also really pretty and the porn isn't actually that graphic, so it wound up being a light, easy snack that was perfect for me this afternoon. Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Spindle - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] The summary of this doujinshi is: At a publicity event for the heroes Kotetsu runs into an ex-boyfriend and Barnaby gets jealous. It goes about how you'd expect it, so if you enjoy this sort of thing, you enjoy it, if not, you don't. There really isn't any more plot to this than that description, it's just an excuse for Barnaby to get jealous of someone else touching Kotetsu and then sexytimes! Which is all I was looking for from it. :D The art is nicely done, it's very sharp and clean and has a good amount of detail and both of them are pretty and the sexytimes were nicely done. It was a very quick read, but it was a fun one still. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Sexual Harassment - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] I... I kind of cried my way through this doujinshi. The title is very apt, Barnaby sexually harasses Kotetsu (though, they're both drunk) and you probably have to like that sort of thing (when it's played half-comedic, half-sexytimes, as it is here) but this is doujinshi and I hardly take it too seriously. So. I laughed my way through Kotetsu arguing about how he's not the bottom, while Barnaby's like, well, if you don't like it there, then use your mouth, and Kotetsu reacts about as you'd expect and then it all goes downhill from there. What sells it for me is that the doujinshika establishes that there's attraction on both sides, plus the art is solidly done, very clean and nicely detailed, with a little work it could be professional level. Also, holy shit, Barnaby's face after Kotetsu's drunken ramble! Perfection. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): -buddy- - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] This was short, probably only a dozen pages of actual story, but it kind of hit a few kinks that I love--conversation during sex, Barnaby being jealous of other people watching Kotetsu on tv, Kotetsu thinking it's hilarious that Bunny-chan is jealous, and then having to nearly limp to work the next day. I laughed my way through this (and thought the conversation during sexytimes was kinda hot) and it was just the perfect way to end my doujinshi-reading spree. For that night. (Barnaby/Kotetsu.)

Homestuck: And Only One Blanket by Laylah - I always figured one of the first Homestuck fics I read would be John/Karkat, since I got so hooked on that pairing. But I was browsing this collection, saw Homestuck fic, clicked out of curiosity, and oh Rose and Kanaya! Yes! Do want! And this was lovely, it had great character voices for both of them and such delightful attraction between the two and even the hilarious meta-esque touches to the narrative, which are perfect for this fandom. Ugh, I may have flailed a little irl at the end of this, because it was so cute. (Rose/Kanaya.)
Misfits: Maybe We by redbrunja - I'm still totally gone on Simon/Alisha and this fic just put me right back in that space, with Simon trying to learn parkour and not being very good at it yet, but somehow it's okay even when he's scraped to hell and touch is still so new for both of them and this was just. Absolutely perfect. A short piece, but so them that it was wonderful. (Simon/Alisha, NSFW.)
Naruto: Discretion Assured by Laylah - anenko pointed this fic out to me, intriguing me with the promise of Ibiki/Anko/Iruka, which caught my attention. For all that this is a short fic that doesn't really do a lot of showing the three of them in an actual relationship, it's still filled with all these lovely little details and hints of their characters, which makes it somehow just really work for me. I love this Iruka, who fits so well with the responsible personality he has, but also touches on the brattiness that you know is still somewhere inside of him. I love the premise of this and the writing is lovely, that is all I need. You know. Aside from MOAR PLZ. (Ibiki/Anko/Iruka.)
Naruto: floated on heat by torch - One of the best things about Kakashi in the Naruto fandom is that he's kind of a jerk. An endearing jerk, but still kind of a jerk. And yet you can still take him seriously as a ninja, even when he's being kind of a fruitloop, like he is here. And poor, put-upon Iruka and yet somehow, even when Kakashi is touching him inappropriately during a mission, you can understand why he's with Kakashi. This might be a short piece, but it was delightfully fun for their dynamic. (Kakashi/Iruka, NSFW.)
Naruto: Fear Me by redbrunja - anenko was kind enough to point this piece out, knowing that I have a real weakness for Iruka/Anko and this short fic really fed into that, hard. Because it's not limited to just being fluffy or cracked out, there are real things you could play with between them and this piece touches on those, the way Iruka scares her in a way that other things never have, but probably in a good way? Oh, if only this fandom were larger, I could make this a regular pairing that I would like to read always. (Iruka/Anko, NSFW.)
Naruto: Nobody's Sin by yamikinoko - Another fic anenko linked and, this time, it's more of an Anko-centric piece with several references to various Anko ships, but it's an interesting look at her character and the rough edges of her, the way she sees herself and the rest of Konoha, the way she is and isn't affected by the way others see her. Though, as a bonus, it ends with Iruka/Anko and I could definitely do with more of that in fandom! (Iruka/Anko.)
Naruto: Sketchy by singeivoire - I'm still making my way through anenko's recs for Iruka fic and, oh, oh, this one hit me just perfect. Iruka makes Konohamaru apologize for a drawing that he did during Shizune's guest lecture in front of the class and Iruka's life is so freaking hard sometimes and I could not contain my flails of delight and laughter. It's so cute! And so fun! And so hilarious! And so darling! It made me love everyone (especially, oh, Tsunade is wonderful) just all the more and it's such a cute scene with Iruka and Shizune that it intrigued me for more on them. It's not really about a ship, it's almost more of a gen thing, but it works perfectly for that. (Mostly gen, a hint of Iruka/Shizune potential.)
Ouran Koukou Host Club: Postcard Worthy by yamikinoko - I suspect this is one of those fics that will really only appeal to already established Kyouya/Haruhi fans, but that definitely includes me, so this was a cute, sweet little fic that filled my urge for this pairing today. It's a simple thing, just a few meetings between the two of them, as they're adults and into their own careers now, and it's not big, sweeping romance, because that's not them. Instead, it's quieter and more subtle, which fit nicely with the two of them. (Kyouya/Haruhi.)
Ouran Koukou Host Club: One Delectable Treat by yamikinoko - This is another cute piece, which is actually more about Haruhi and the Host Club's antics around Halloween (though, it's more about the candy than the holiday) and the Kyouya/Haruhi is just very quietly in the background, but that actually worked out the best for me. It's a short fic, but it didn't need to be longer and it was a good one for these two. (Half gen, a little Kyouya/Haruhi implied.)
Parks and Rec: Far From Armageddon by gloss - So, I decided to tackle the cuddling meme. I need more cuddling in my life and I saw a P&R one and had to at least start it! And, oh, be still my heart. Ann and Leslie just falling asleep on her and their amazing friendship and there's just so much love and adoration here and it was perfect. This is why cuddlememes are made!! (This is gen, but you could read Ann/Leslie into it, too.)
Parks and Rec: What to Expect When Expecting by Lexie - The summary of this fic is: "So we're going to have a kid or whatever," April says, and the entire office comes to a standstill. It's just so perfect that I had to read it and, oh, this fic is absolutely delightful. It's a great ensemble piece, each character is solidly and amazingly written, both individually and as a group, and there are so many moments that are just spot on with the show. And, oh, the ending is perfect and just-- I cannot say enough or keyboard mash hard enough over this fic. (Some April/Andy, but it's only half the point, this is an ensemble piece.)
Psych: Hardly Working by bring_me_sugar - In any fandom, there is hardly enough of dudes going down on ladies, much less hardly enough sexytimes for Lassiter/O'Hara, much less hardly enough fic for them in the first place. This one jumps straight into the sexytimes, it's one of those pieces that's for established already fans of the ship, but it was a nice treat to come across this morning, when I was going through the older Porn Battle posts. And I definitely enjoyed the feeling of how partnered they were here, that's always nice. (Lassiter/O'Hara, NC-17.)
Sherlock: The(y) kiss by methimyesterday - Oh, I really liked this! It's not even a thousand words long, but it didn't need to be any longer than it already was, because it's a piece about Sherlock and John's first kiss, but with a lovely meta edge to it. It's difficult to explain in a rec, why it's so good or why the feel of the writing hit me just perfectly. But I definitely liked this one a lot and the emotionalfeels it gave me. (Sherlock/John.)
Sherlock: The Yearly Revolution (Winter) by methimyesterday - I realize this is the first part of a four-part series, shut up, I do what I want. And I am rapidly becoming very fond of this author, because this piece is so lovely, both in the writing and the way Sherlock's character is approached. The writer seems to balance an analytical style (well, Sherlock's personality is probably a better way to put it) with an almost poetic (without being purple) style of writing, giving me a fic that has Sherlock watching John, almost examining him, but it's all so very pretty. There was a section in the middle, of about three paragraphs, that I very nearly tried to pull a quote from, but was unable to because I realized I wanted to quote it all, it was so perfect. I love when fic can get me to do feel that way. (Sherlock/John.)
Sherlock: Deductions by Speranza - I picked up this link because I was hoping for cuddling (since it's part of the Canadian Shack collection), but instead actually got some light sexytimes and I think... I was okay with them. I really enjoyed the author's way of writing the characters, the sense of a mystery being solved that leads into that bit of euphoria of a solved case which leads into something more, but still with the analytical nature and humor of the show. It's not terribly graphic, but it made me laugh and made me feel ~*emotions*~ for the characters and Sherlock's moment of realization re: John's feelings was pretty great. (Sherlock/John, around an R or so, definitely NSFW.)
Sherlock: Safe, if not (yet) Sound by pollitt - More Canadian Shack fic! And, oh, this one was delightful with a moment towards the end that had me laughing wildly. (Thank god it was late at night, lest I have to explain why I was shoving my hand across my face because a line in a fanfic hit me just perfectly.) But any fic with this summary-- It takes an astounding 18 minutes for Sherlock to drop onto the couch and declare "bored."--certainly promised a lot. It's short, there was less physical contact than I might have hoped for, but it was so delightfully, joyfully hilarious that I loved it exactly the way it was. ♥ (Sherlock/John.)
Sherlock: Indubitably by pollitt - This was another short piece, but one I really liked. The writing was lovely, the little touches with the way Sherlock put his hand on John's, the way he analyzed a situation and repeated his findings, even in this, but without being too cold about it, it all really worked for me here. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: Baby I'm A Star - This video is pretty much three minutes of Carlton dancing to a Prince song, but it's in the amazing editing of the clips, the quick pace, and the way everything matches where it really shines. It's a perfect blend of joyful dancing (which is always fun) and hilarity and it's just so good natured and celebratory that I came away feeling amazing after this vid!
Ao no Exorcist: Moon Hidden in the Rain - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] So. I didn't set out to find Yukio/Rin doujinshi, just that I was going through the comm's archive for T&B doujinshi, when I stumbled over this one... and it had a pretty cover... and I'm weak to twincest... sorry.... But, in my defense, the cover is really gorgeous (omg, the colorssss) and the art is very cute and it's a short story where Yukio walks in on Rin masturbating and his last shred of sanity snaps as Rin is... well, Rin. I laughed at the end of the doujinshi, too, which was far less creepy than I thought it was going to be. It was actually kind of cute? ....I know! Sorry. Twincest is a weakness. (Yukio/Rin, NC-17.)
Bleach Doujinshi (raw): untitled - Of course I'm always interested any time an Ichigo/Orihime doujinshi gets posted and I really liked the cover of this one a lot! I wish the artist's style inside had been a bit more like this, but... well, even if it's short and a little messy, the actual content was SUPER CUTE OMG. I will never get enough of Ichigo having ~*day dreams*~ about Orihime in frilly underthings or sliding out of them and embarrassing himself by just those thoughts alone. I love it for the ship, of course, but also just because sometimes I really love Ichigo kind of a ridiculous amount. ♥ (Ichigo/Orihime, somewhere between R and NC-17.)
Fullmetal Alchemist Doujinshi (scanlated): Promised Land - Oh, godammit. I thought I left FMA behind years ago! But then I see RoyEd doujinshi by IDEA and I'm just sucked right back in! And, yeah, yeah, sorry, I imprinted on this ship and I'll probably never let it go, certainly not when I get beautiful work like this that punches me right in the fangirl heart. I love the dream-like quality of this, the meeting under the sakura tree, the way not everything has to be spelled out, the undercurrent of feelings in everything. It's such a sad piece and yet it's bittersweet, too, and the art is beautiful, I absolutely love IDEA's style. It's a tragic piece, but such a gorgeous tragedy, set post-anime and all the more heartbreaking for it. Hell, even the sexytimes weren't really the point, but were woven in nicely and were just so pretty in this style. (Roy/Ed, about an R. At the very least NSFW.)
Fullmetal Alchemist Doujinshi (scanlated): Frozen - More of IDEA punching me in the fangirl heart. I was expecting RoyEd from the cover (which is stunning, by the way), but this is actually more of a gen piece with Ed and Al, post-anime in that other world, where things are bittersweet, but not necessarily tragic. There's one line especially from Alphons that really hits hard, but mostly this is just a melancholy piece with IDEA's gorgeous artwork to really bring it home. I love the use of Ed cooking and how it turns out, how he uses it to create a place for this Alphonse, just. Way to get to me. ;__; (No real warnings/pairings.)
Fullmetal Alchemist Doujinshi (scanlated): Mute - If this had been anther doujinshika, I may have passed on it, despite the great scenes with Roy in them, but... well, it's IDEA and I love her work a lot. After an explosion in town, Ed's lost his hearing for awhile, which means he and Al can't communicate, since there are no lips to read, and it's a painful time for both of them. It's probably meant to be at least somewhat Al/Ed, but I found that it worked pretty well as a gen piece, too. Setting it from Al's point of view, how lost and alone and nonexistant he feels when he can't convey anything to Ed is heartbreaking and lovely, in that way that IDEA has. I wound up enjoying it a lot more than I might have expected to! (I took this as gen, but it could be Al/Ed, too.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw): unknown by RAKUEN - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. There are multiple doujinshi posted here, this is a rec for the first one.] I know, I know. But you can deal with multiple recs leading to the same page because I'm going to post them all at once and I'll probably keep them short. So, the first on on this list of doujinshi caught my attention because, oh, that cover looked interesting! And Gokudera is wearing glasses, do want, thank you! And the color pages (of Gokudera/Tsuna and G/Giotto) are gorgeous. The rest of the art is solid, bordering on very pretty at times, with lots of angsting characters and the usual BL-style sex. I actually wound up enjoying this one for the glassesssss and Giotto with his pretty face and half-undone shirt. The sex was a little too crying for me this time around. Generally, I'm not as fussed, but there's something about doing it to Tsuna that makes me rather :/ about it and it doesn't help that my preferred dynamic for them isn't matched here. But the art is pretty and I liked several aspects of it, so! Onto the recs pile it goes! :D (Gokudera/Tsuna and G/Giotto, NC-17.)

Gokudera being a complete and utter dork around Tsuna, who has the most adorable EEEHHHH!? faces, and the two of them being totally fucking adorable together! And Gokudera in glasses! The whole thing is, like, pure, concentrated adorableness and Gokudera being full of feelings and NOBODY is a smooth fucker and Gokudera tries singing to Tsuna and ugh. So much adorable that I can hardly stand it. The art is adorable, it's got these really soft, lovely lines to it but also knows how to rock a chibi face and the sex finally started because Tsuna just shoved Gokudera down onto the sofa and kissed him! And then the doujinshi gave me Tsuna sleeping with Uri curled up in his arms and Gokudera acting like a cat and Hibari wandering through to be completely un-fucking-impressed and then Gokudera sleeping with Uri to Tsuna acting like a cat and kissing and everything is wonderful in this. Also, bonus use of that Gokudera anime frame of terrible animation that became a meme in Japan, used in hilarious ways. Nothing about this didn't make me smile. (Gokudera/Tsuna, a little NSFW.)

There are multiple doujinshi posted here, this is a rec for the sixth one.] I think a lot of what makes me so easy on this doujinshi, is that it has a very The Daily Life-era feel to it, where everything was chaotic but kind of sweet. There's a lot of adorableness between Gokudera and Tsuna here, plus solid roles for Tsuna's mother and Reborn in the story and it's always nice to see them interacting with other characters. The art is a little rough, but it still captures that early manga feel that I'm easy on and the sexytimes were kind of sweet again, too. (Gokudera/Tsuna, NC-17.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw): ひとつ屋根の下で и ひと夏の思い出 - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. There are multiple doujinshi posted here, this is a rec for the seventh/final one.] I can't say I know wtf is going on in this doujinshi, but it's a long one at almost 90 pages and I'm rather fond of Harapekomushi's style--which I keep feeling like she could use just a tiny bit more heavier inking, but also the lighter inking keeps the art feeling very light and almost sort of airy. This style actually works much better with her color art, which is absolutely lovely. She also does some really adorable chibis and her Gokudera is pretty darn hot and there are some close-ups where you can see her art is just gorgeous and really professional level quality. Also, there's a great moment of Gokudera spraying himself in the face with a garden hose and I just. I will love any doujinshi that has a moment like that in it. p.s. Doujinshi (scanlated): Kanmidokoro - [Note: This post is locked, bu the comm is freely joinable.] I always enjoy Peeco?'s artwork and stories, even when they're only 11 pages long and kinda random like this one. It's literally, Dino gets back to Japan, Hibari sends him off to get ice cream, Hibari has a weird dream, Dino comes back, they spar, then Dino carries him off. That's it. But it's adorably drawn, Hibari is delightfully stone-faced as always, and Hibari's batshit dream is fantastic, I will never, ever get tired of it! I enjoyed this a lot. ♥ (Dino/Hibari.)
Sailor Moon Doujinshi (scanlated): Delicate Planet - [Note: There are multiple doujinshi on this page, just Ctrl+F for 'Delicate Planet' for this recommendation.] Oh, MamoUsa doujinshi is so very rare to find, it feels like. But I absolutely adored this one, for getting the atmosphere between them down so beautifully. There's something almost dream-like about this storyline, even aside from Usagi's dream of being alone, feeling like he was so far away (which is a lovely reference to Serenity and Endymion without being too obvious about it), yet still carrying such an intense feeling between them. I love how there's no one else in the world for them while they're together, how much love and cherishing there is between them, how beautiful everything is when Usagi spends the night and Mamoru is drawn to her, comforting her after her nightmare and wanting more with her. The art is very cute, occasionally really lovely and a few moments definitely reminded me of the manga itself, but it's the storyline and the gorgeous characterization that are spot on with the manga and, oh, every time Mamoru and Usagi touch each other, it's perfect. Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Candy Man - [Note: The website that indexes this doujinshi is very NSFW, it's a porn site, so be careful!] inkstone mentioned this doujinshi and then linked to it and I was curious enough to read (after browsing through the comments and laughing at the adorableness of the reactions to a yaoi doujin on a hentai website), just intending to skim, because I was curious how the Barnaby/Kotetsu would be played, since it's properly a Keith/Kotetsu doujinshi. But it's the first part of a series and it'll likely have Barnaby/Kotetsu as endgame, so I'm totally onboard with this. And, oh, this was such fun! The art is lovely and the humor is totally hilarious and I love pretty much everyone in this story! Kotetsu is adorable drunk and passed out and pouty and sullen when something's bothering him and Antonio is the put-upon best friend who tries to be the sane one except SOMETIMES IT IS REALLY HARD OKAY and Keith is just cheerfully cheerful and Barnaby might actually be developing feelings and the porn is super hot and just. THIS is what I wanted from fandom! MOAR PLZ. (Keith/Kotetsu, assumed Barnaby/Kotetsu endgame but it's barely hinted at here, AND BOY IS IT NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Boku no Yome - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] There are some things in any given fandom that I just have come around on knowing that I enjoy them. And one of those things is total hilarity of two people having just gotten married, enjoying newlywed life, and then their daughter comes skipping in and likes the new parent better. I laughed so hard at the sheer delight of Kaede liking Barnaby better than her dad, how UTTERLY ADORABLE the scenes of ALL THREE OF THEM were (seriously, the three of them sleeping in a pile? holy shit, do want do want do want) and, whatever, I'm weak to that kind of cuteness. There's also some Barnaby/Kotetsu sexytimes, which I appreciated, but are pretty skippable (if you just want family hilarity, you can read this and then stop once Barnaby hauls Kotetsu off, you won't miss anything after that) and I definitely enjoyed the humor most of all. (If you stop before the end, this is pretty tame, but otherwise there's an NC-17 Barnaby/Kotetsu sexytimes scene.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Ore no Yome - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] I believe this is actually the first in this series (though, I read it after Boku no Yome and found they both stood pretty well on their own), so it's more newlywed life for Barnaby and Kotetsu and I continue to be at that point in my fannish career where I find this hilarious. It's Barnaby who's the "housewife" in this doujinshi and the hilarity comes from his total lack of maturity, even while still being relatively proper. Except for the part where he breaks down walls and picks up Kotetsu to cart him off or literally tosses Kotetsu over his shoulder or uses olive oil on Kotetsu inappropriately. Other than that? Totally smooth. Really. I was pleased with the art, too, it's solid and the doujinshika (with a few exceptions) has a strong sense for the layouts and details. It's very clean and smooth and she occasionally gets in some great expressions, which I appreciated a lot. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Love is Blind - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] Well, so this doujinshi just hit me straight in the fangirl heart. It's more doujinshi-esque in style (slightly messier lines, less clean inking, an airier feeling to it, etc.) but I really, really like this artist's style, it's pretty without losing the T&B feel to it. And, oh, the characterization! It's pretty much just a straightforward storyline--Barnaby asks if Kotetsu will have sex with him, they decide to try it out, then there's feelings bombs all over the place--but it's in the way the doujinshika does it that's lovely. Barnaby is still figuring himself out, Kotetsu is struck by those first explorations of his feelings and touched by Barnaby's feelings for him, and just, ugh, it didn't even need to have full on sexytimes (though, they're implied, of course) for it to be one of my new favorites. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, R-rated or so.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Fish Drowning in the Ocean - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join. There are multiple doujinshi posted on this post, the one I'm recommending is the second one down.] This is another doujinshi that just got me, right in the fangirl heart. Barnaby gets Kotetsu to talk, pointing out that he's certainly meddlesome enough in others' lives, he should talk more about his own troubles, which leads to talk of Tomoe and Kotetsu's life and reasons for being a hero and the emotions are just really nicely done. I love that Barnaby is still exploring his own interactions with people, that he's not smooth at it yet, but he still does it, and it makes me ship this ship all that much harder. And I also really liked the way the sex and the talk was intertwined, the way conversation was woven into the bedroom scene, it made it that much more satisfying on both fronts. Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Again - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] This is one of those doujinshi I wonder if I was just dropped in medias res or if it's a part of a longer series, but I found that I didn't really matter, I could still read it just fine as a stand alone story. It's short, it's a moment in time, years into the future, where Kotetsu attends a party for Barnaby, sees Barnaby's wife for the first time, they spot each other, go off to a hotel room, fuck, and realize they love each other. It sounds pointless and/or kind of dumb, but it's the way the doujinshika writes the emotions and somehow makes it work for me, she captures this moment in time between them that I love. The art is also really pretty and the porn isn't actually that graphic, so it wound up being a light, easy snack that was perfect for me this afternoon. Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Spindle - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is relatively easy to join.] The summary of this doujinshi is: At a publicity event for the heroes Kotetsu runs into an ex-boyfriend and Barnaby gets jealous. It goes about how you'd expect it, so if you enjoy this sort of thing, you enjoy it, if not, you don't. There really isn't any more plot to this than that description, it's just an excuse for Barnaby to get jealous of someone else touching Kotetsu and then sexytimes! Which is all I was looking for from it. :D The art is nicely done, it's very sharp and clean and has a good amount of detail and both of them are pretty and the sexytimes were nicely done. It was a very quick read, but it was a fun one still. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): Sexual Harassment - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] I... I kind of cried my way through this doujinshi. The title is very apt, Barnaby sexually harasses Kotetsu (though, they're both drunk) and you probably have to like that sort of thing (when it's played half-comedic, half-sexytimes, as it is here) but this is doujinshi and I hardly take it too seriously. So. I laughed my way through Kotetsu arguing about how he's not the bottom, while Barnaby's like, well, if you don't like it there, then use your mouth, and Kotetsu reacts about as you'd expect and then it all goes downhill from there. What sells it for me is that the doujinshika establishes that there's attraction on both sides, plus the art is solidly done, very clean and nicely detailed, with a little work it could be professional level. Also, holy shit, Barnaby's face after Kotetsu's drunken ramble! Perfection. (Barnaby/Kotetsu, NC-17.)
Tiger and Bunny Doujinshi (scanlated): -buddy- - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] This was short, probably only a dozen pages of actual story, but it kind of hit a few kinks that I love--conversation during sex, Barnaby being jealous of other people watching Kotetsu on tv, Kotetsu thinking it's hilarious that Bunny-chan is jealous, and then having to nearly limp to work the next day. I laughed my way through this (and thought the conversation during sexytimes was kinda hot) and it was just the perfect way to end my doujinshi-reading spree. For that night. (Barnaby/Kotetsu.)
