This secret (Tom Welling + Gackt = Cillian Murphy) is one of those I can never unsee. But the great part is
in the comments with the graph comparing a whole bunch of FF characters to Gackt. Lolling forever.

Junjou Romantica:
five exercises in aggravation by glass_icarus - I have a great fondness for Akihiko and Hiroki friendship pieces, they're so cheerfully awful to each other sometimes (well, Akihiko is because Akihiko's kind of a dick) and yet it's a great friendship, I couldn't help laughing my way through the entire first scene. It's also interesting the way the author had the various moments in their friendship going backwards through the timeline, which makes each one a little more bittersweet than the previous one, which sort of drives home how their friendship has changed over time. They're all interesting on their own, but the combination of all the scenes together makes an even more interesting piece, I'm glad to have stumbled over this one today. (Background Nowaki/Hiroki and Akihiko/Misaki, one-sided Akihiko/Takahiro and Akihiko/Hiroki, but the focus is on the friendship.)
Junjou Romantica:
Walking Home by deecherrywolf - Okay, I know this is a short one, but... it's so sweet and fluffy and so Egoist that I couldn't help myself. It just put a smile on my face and made the day a little brighter, especially the way Hiroki so easily gets swept up by Nowaki sometimes... at least until his temper reasserts itself, even if it's just out of embarrassment. This was totally adorable. <3 (Nowaki/Hiroki.)
Junjou Romantica:
And I Will Follow You Home by Scriverane - There was something about this fic that just quietly caught me. Granted, I picked it up for the Egoist cameo (because I'm that far gone, yes) but wound up really enjoying the Romantica part of the storyline as well! It's a simple idea--there's a surprise party for Misaki as thrown by Takahiro, there's a handful of guests and things just sort of... roll along in a JR sort of way--but it was really quite charming in the way the author dealt with the characters all being stuffed into the same room and secrets coming out into the open. It was a happy, upbeat fic and it had some really hilarious little touches from Akihiko's point of view, especially when he eggs Hiroki on deliberately or when noticing that Misaki has a weird look on his face, which really just completely sold me on the fic. ♥ (Akihiko/Misaki, some Nowaki/Hiroki.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!:
Sex and Sushi by Dual - Pero linked this fic earlier today and I saw, oh, Yamamoto/Squalo fic! AND BLESS HER FOR LINKING IT because this was beautiful. Like, I could ship this ship hardcore if all the fic was like this, except maybe I don't need any more fic for the pairing ever because this was everything I ever wanted. The author's voices for both Squalo and Yamamoto, the tone she has for the entire fic, are spot ot for the REBORN! series and just screamingly funny to read. Every single scene was an exercise in struggling to muffle my giggles lest I wake everyone else up, but it was an uphill battle the whole way because it's one of those fics where... her Squalo voice is infinitely quotable, the kind where you could find yourself quoting half of the fic before you even realize it. Squalo's denial about returning Yamamoto's affections, Yamamoto's unruffled demeanor the entire way, the various ways Squalo is TOTALLY BADASS SHUT UP HE IS TOO HE WILL FUCKING KILL YOU IF YOU DISAGREE were all beautiful. This is what all fic for this ship should be--this is what all REBORN! fic in general should be. ....just nevermind the flailing rec here, I can't help it, this is exactly what I want out of fandom! Including the omake, which was kind of ridiculously hot. I mean hilarious. No, wait, I mean hot. (Yamamoto/Squalo, mostly PG-13, but NSFW in the omake.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!:
carve your name into my arm; by seasalts - Well, as long as I was going back through the khr_exchange archive, I figured I might as well poke around a bit, which led me to wanting more Squalo fic, which led me to this Xanxus/Squalo piece. It's not a long one and it's really just a moment in time, after Squalo finishes a mission and reports back to Xanxus, who is his usual self about it, and then there's sex with Squalo bent over Xanxus' desk, and that's all it really needed to be. It was rough and posessive and yet there was something almost a little graceful about it, which is everything this ship is in my eyes, making it a very nice read this morning. (Xanxus/Squalo, somewhere between hard R and NC-17.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!:
This Place Beside Me by questofdreams - Oh, this is a beautifully written piece! I'm a little wary of reading much on Tsuna and Gokudera, somehow (despite my ridiculous fondness for the ship) I don't click with a lot of the fic I try to read (which, granted, has been less and less these days) but I decided, what the hell, I'll give this one a shot... and it's really quite lovely. It's sort of simple, it's Tsuna and Gokudera at six in the morning, out on the Vongola lawn at some point in the future, Gokudera demonstrating his bombs while Tsuna watches, and there's a sense of peacefulness and something really graceful and beautiful, even under all the blushing and the usual GokuTsuna dynamic. The words themselves are super pretty and the mix of laid-back with high energy (shut up, that makes sense in my head!) really worked for me with these two; I adored this piece a lot. (Gokudera/Tsuna.)

Avatar: The Last Airbender [ English Fanart Site ] - So, I'm a total sucker for Zuko/Mai art, especially when an artist uses all these dark reds and other burnt colors for the two of them (which they look fantastic in, of course) that fit with the Fire Nation's colors and so I was won over by that a lot. I really adored the artist's
dress for Mai in this Zuko/Mai image or the
patterns on her Queen's dress even if it's not the usual way I see Mai or on
the two of them sitting under a tree or
the pretty wedding clothes and so forth. The art might not be for everyone, but I can't help it. I'm charmed by patterns and color palettes and ship preferences that all work together, shut up! (Zuko/Mai.)
-
Bleach - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I stumbled over this tegaki account the other day and I'll admit that it took me a bit to get into it, but once I did, I was kind of seriously drawn into the artist's work. Partially because I'm a sucker for the Urahara/Yoruichi pairing--which the artist clearly loves and has a ton of fun with--but also because there's just a sense of badass to everything and there's some really fun Urahara stuff. Sure, I came there for the ship art, but I also really loved the artist's Urahara + Hiyori art, the Urahara + Shinji art (which is just as hilarious as it should be), and even the occasional extra Shinigami or Arrancar tucked here and there. The art might not be for everyone, but given that it's mouseart and I'm easily drawn into badass stuff, I totally enjoyed this and will be keeping an eye on the artist in the future. ♥ (Some Urahara/Yoruichi, some gen.)
-
Disney - [ English Fanart Site ] - Oddly enough, I was looking around for Pokemon fanart today and instead somehow stumbled over some Disney fanart. There are several sketches and other images tucked away on the various pages, but what I really fell in love with was the
Disney Scenes folder, where the artist drew several classic moments from various Disney movies. Some of my favorites were from
Pocahontas,
Aladdin,
Beauty and the Beast,
Mulan, and
The Little Mermaid--of course, these are mostly my favorite movies, but I think the artist captured the scenes really well! Her style feels very much like a painting and the vibrant colors work very nicely here. This was definitely a treat this morning. (No real warnings/pairings beyond the usual canon Disney ones.)
-
Freakazoid! - [ English Fanart Site ] - Okay, not that there's a ton of art here, but! I was browsing around devART, happened to stumble over
this Happy Anniversary image with Freakazoid and Steph, couldn't resist clicking on the artist's account and... well. I can't help it if I got sucked in by
really kind of awesome looking art and the nostalgia factor! And there's
Freakazoid and Cosgrove, too! And they look awesome! It's one of those things where you probably have to be a real nerd for the show to get as geeked out as I did, but... man, I loved that show and this art was pretty fantastic, so I'm happy today, shut up. :D (Nothing I'd really warn for.)
-
Junjou Romantica - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This artist is definitely not going to be for everyone and I know that ahead of time, but... I'm weak to chibi art and the pastel colors that the artist uses and the sheer amount of art here and the adorable situations and the little extra doodles in the comments that come along with pretty much every image on the artist's account! She often draws Nowaki snuggling up with Hiroki, who has a grumpy look on his face! She has cute Halloween art! There's puppy ears! There's doctor!Nowaki! There's Christmas art with reindeer ears and costume and Santa outfit! There's New Years animal art! And a lot of it is so fucking cute that I can hardly stand it. ♥ So, it's one of those sites that took me, like, an hour to get all the way through and made me super happy this morning and I am all about the fanart making me happy. ♥ (Nowaki/Hiroki.)
-
Original - [ English Art Site ] - So, I was browsing around zerochan and noticed a section for something called SPREE*KILLER and immediately had to hunt down what the heck it was. And I'm kind of blown away by how gorgeous this art is--sure, it's the usual big-eyed, brightly colored anime style that's very cg and it's not going to be to everyone's tastes, but I eat that kind of thing up. Especially when the colors are incredibly vivid and glossy, almost glowing, and it's mixed with a lot of blacks and almost gothic looks--I love that kind of thing, cutesy colors contrasted against slightly darker imagery! I love the designs of
the various bandmembers (and I'm especially a sucker for
Alex's character design) and I love the glossy feel of the actual storyline pages (and would love for a translation so I could read it properly *__*) and the
black & white & orange art looks fantastic or the
black & white & pink art also look fantastic and
group images that are amazing. It's one of those original art account that caught my attention in a way a fandom account would catch my attention and it makes me kind of want to seek out fanart for the characters, even if I know it'd never wow me as much as the original source did... it's just that it looks so interesting! I want a fandom for it! XD (No real warnings/pairings.)
-
Pokemon - [ English Fanart Site ] - Okay, admittedly, I was attracted here for the
image of Green/Red with their Pokemon, but I actually wound up staying for stuff like
this Livestream request image (omg Luxray! HARTS) and
this beautiful group image and
this adorable family image. There's not a ton of art here, but the images are very cute and the artist can do some really impressive stuff when she gets down to it and I just really enjoyed poking around the art this morning. The colors are soft and pretty, the Pokemon are adorable, and I really can't ask for more than that. <3 (No real warnings/pairings.)
-
Pokemon - [ English Fanart Site ] - This is another artist who does a bunch of really cute Pokemon images and I really like the variety of different critters and the adorable colors she uses! There's also several realistic-style Pokemon that are neat to see and I love creativity like that, but then there's stuff that's just
cutely drawn or
completely adorable or is
one of my favorite Pokemon and I realize all over again that I'm a total sucker for these games and these critters. There's a ton here, but there's a decent selection and I enjoyed browsing the gallery and would like to see more from this artist. :Db (No warnings/pairings.)
-
Pokemon - [ English Fanart Site ] - When I first got to this artist's account and started browsing through the Pokemon folder, I wasn't sure how long I was going to stick around. A lot of the more recent art in the folder (though, I think there are several pieces that weren't yet sorted into it at the time of this rec) were sketches or simple doodles almost, but... they were intriguing. So I kept clicking. And the further I got into the gallery, the more I would stumble over pieces that I really liked! Like the
Togekiss/Eevee/Kecleon image or
Silver and Feraligator or
Vapreon at the beach (well, who isn't weak to the pretty Eevee evolution forms?) or
super adorable Eevee in peril... and, eventually, I just sort of fell for the account. There's a solid amount here, it'll give you a good half hour or so of entertainment to go through absolutely everything, and I'd definitely like to see more from this artist! (No warnings/pairings.)
-
Pokemon - [ English Fanart Site ] - So, I can't help myself. I have to keep poking around. But then I find this artist! And there are a handful of images here that are just fantastic and I would recommend the whole account just for them! So, away I went, pretty much. My favorites? Totally
this one of Cubone,
this one of Lugia,
this one of Flareon, and probably
this itty, bitty Charmander. The rest of the artist's work is very cutely done cg-style art, but those ones have a certain kind of detail and solidly done coloring and sharpness to them that just wowed me completely. I had a lot of fun here as well. ♥ (No warnings/pairings.)
-
Princess Tutu - [ English Fanart Site ] - I definitely came to this artist's gallery for her Fakia/Ahiru art (which is sometimes
so adorable that I can hardly stand it, honestly) but she also has some lovely
Mytho/Rue art that captured a really neat style with them. I realize that's a lame way to describe it, but the sort of sketch-like quality of several images really charmed me with this artist, it fit the fairy tale setting of the series and style here. Sure, the art is rough at times, but there's that something the artist has that caught me and delighted me while I was browsing through her account--not to mention there's also some
adorable Tutu cosplay and that's always appreciated! (Fakia/Ahiru, Mytho/Rue.)
-
Toy Story - [ English Fanart Site ] - Once again, I was looking for something else and somehow wound up on something completely different and couldn't help getting drawn into an artist's account--well, okay, I was looking at Disney art and that's not very far removed from Pixar art, but still. Even after Toy Story 3, I never really felt a super strong urge to go looking for art; I glanced at a few images here and there when they were popping up frequently, but didn't pay too much attention overall. And then today... somehow I stumbled over
this amazingly lovely Woody/Bo image and just kind of quietly fell in love with the artist's style. Her Woody/Bo art is probably the best overall in my opinion, but she does have some
really adorable Woody/Jessie and
Buzz/Jessie art tucked away here and there, too. But, yeah, my favorite is definitely
her Woody/Bo art, it's just so damn cute and adorable! If I were going to be an active fan in this fandom, I think this might have pushed me towards them a little more. ....though, my ultimate favorite is
this image of all four of them and I dare you not to find it super, super adorable. (Woody/Bo, Woody/Jessie, Buzz/Jessie, a little Bo/Jessie, maybe a little other. An occasional darker tone warning.)
-
Toy Story - [ English Fanart Site ] - Oh, hell, as long as I'm looking around at Toy Story fanart, I couldn't resist stumbling over one more account. And I'm just utterly charmed by this artist's style, her delicate lines and soft, light, almost pastel colors that look like very detailed sketches (....that's not quite what I want to say, but whatever) are just lovely. I mostly came here for the
realistic sketches of the characters and the
Woody/Bo art, but I actually thought the Buzz/Woody art was really cute, too! It's all very delicate and warmly colored and charming, which is a really neat style to put together with Toy Story, so I had a lot of fun. <3 (Woody/Bo, Buzz/Woody, some gen.)
