So, hey, not dead! Not that I've really been away, so much as I drifted towards fandoms that don't really have fandoms. And then I thought, well, I'll go browse Pixiv for a bit. Which led to a few fanart sites. And somehow that lead to KHR fic. Why is it always KHR fic that drags me back. Goddamned fandom. If I didn't love KHR so much, I'd hate it. But anyway. This was fun, so I think I'm going to make an actual effort to catch up on fic/art/doujin for awhile again. ♥

Fire Emblem 9: waiting in the wings by measuringlife - There is not much Naesala/Reyson in fandom and I suppose I grudgingly understand why, but I imprinted early on them and couldn't quite let go of them. So measuringlife was kind enough to write this for me and it's adorable and perfect, Naesala is full of mischief and teasing in his own way, while Reyson is far too serious and pretty for his own good. It's a really charming piece with some great imagery and it's just. It's fun, the way a fic like this should be. ♥♥♥ (Naesala/Reyson.)
Kamen Rider Kabuto: 'the pretty ones are always stupid' by Circe - [Note: You'll probably have to read part one and part two of my fic to fully understand this fic. Or, hell, you can just go with the summary--it's a Kabuto/LOVELESS fusion. There. o/] Oh, man. As if the Gon/Daisuke cuteness in the beginning couldn't get any better. Then Circe takes up the awesome another notch by having them go to La Salle where the others are and just. I really, really love her Gon. Her Gon is SPOT ON and her Daisuke is pitch perfect as well and then Gon figures things out and I love it so much I could burst with it. Also, her Gon and Tendou? ADORABLE. I would read about them being kindred spirits FOREVER. Seriously, this was delightful and perfect and everything else I couldn't possibly explode enough over. (Sort of Gon/Daisuke, I'd say. Sort of not. They're... you know.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Reduction by artillie - Okay, so. I have this thing for Hibari/Chrome when done by certain authors. And obviously I'm a big fan of Dino/Hibari. What I did not expect to get out of this fic was Dino/Chrome interaction that was seriously kind of awesome for me. The author did a really great job at capturing the surprisingly subtle qualities of these outlandish characters, there's something very graceful about each of them in their own way and the writing of this fic. It's a short thing, Hibari survives an explosion no one should be able to survive, Chrome and Dino react in their own ways. I love how much isn't said and how each of their povs is very nicely done. I-- I could do more of these two. (Potential Hibari/Chrome, Dino/Chrome, and Dino/Hibari. It's a mix of the three.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: The Vagabonds by artillie - Well. As long as I was already reading the author's fic, I clicked onto this one, curious about how a Mukuro/Hibari/Chrome (in various permutations) fic would go. What I wound up really liking about this fic is the take on Mukuro's character, all the lives he lived in the past and how it takes all these little experiences to build up his personality. I really liked the sense of... an endless wheel of time, life after life, almost futile, but not precisely that, either. The writing is very pretty, though, and I especially liked the first life/scene a lot! (Mukuro/Hibari/Chrome and all variations on that.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Age Difference by Lys ap Adin - This was a cute, as the author says, almost-fluffy fic that's just a short little moment in time but is really fun and kinda totally hot. I love that Hibari sometimes doesn't give any warnings and I love all that you can feel was building up to get to this moment and Hibari finally snapping. Very cute. XD (Dino/Hibari.)
Nodame Cantabile: no in-betweens by Zau - I hadn't planned on doing much fic reading along with the current batch of recs I was doing but I at least had this tab open and thought, eh, why not. And once I started reading, I could not put this down, because it captures that sense of music and... well, whatever it is that makes up Chiaki and his relationship with Nodame. It's a really beautifully written piece and says so much through imagery and subtlety, one of the best pieces I could find to start off my reading for this fandom, I suspect. <3 (Chiaki/Nodame.)
One Piece: passenger seat by Zau - Well, if I'm going to read One Piece fic, I couldn't resist reading this one as well. I love the way Zau's writing comes across, she does such amazing things with it, and this piece is no exception. I love the way the crew is celebrating their latest victory, the big one, Luffy's goal of becoming the Pirate King, and you can feel the comraderie between the Straw Hats. And now that's balanced out by a slightly more sombre Luffy elsewhere, this moment alone with Nami that isn't quite about their relationship and yet it's so important and just. a ;sldkfjalsk I love it. <3 (Luffy/Nami.)
Merlin Fanvid - Look at my 'girlfriend' - You have no idea how many times I have watched this video. The first time I watched it, I could not stop laughing--the first ten seconds are the most brilliant thing just about ever, but the whole video is kind of amazing. The clips are edited together really well, but even more than that it's the way the context matches up, making the video coherent as well as seamless. I can rewatch it pretty much an endless amount of times because it's just such a great vid and the song is a total goddamned earworm. Seriously just. WATCH THIS ONE, IT IS SO GREAT.
Gundam 00 Doujinshi (scanslated) - G Senjou no Aria - Air on G-string - Well. I knew I would love this one as soon as I saw the pairing listing and that it was by Kain. It's set not long after Lockon finds out the connection Setsuna had to his past and how he deals with that, how Tieria helps him deal with it. I really adored the characterization in this, Tieria was cool without being cold, Lockon was angsty and then smiley without being shallow, there was a lot unsaid here. From both of them. The art is really strong in this one, it's still Kain's style, but also very recognizably Gundam 00's style as well, a really good blend of the two. I almost no longer need any G00 doujinshi after this one was just right. <3 (Lockon/Tieria, sort of NC-17.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw) - Tsunderella - Okay, sometimes you just gotta download a doujinshi titled "Tsunderella". Especially if it's by Banyuu, whom I adore just like most other D18 fangirls out there. The art is stunning as always and it doesn't matter if Hibari spends the whole thing in a dress, it's cracked out in exactly the way it's supposed to be. It doesn't have to have much more than Dino kissing Hibari up against a wall, fairy tail prince/princess clothes and all, to be super hot, too. It's a tiny little thing but as;ldkfjal; LOL, I LOVE IT. (Dino/Hibari.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated) - legend of strong - Well. I could hardly let a doujinshi spree go by and not pick up a few more to read. And it's another Banyuu and it's just as gorgeous as ever and it's already one of my favorites of hers because it's everything I want in D18 doujinshi. Gorgeous, gorgeous art, Dino being all sparkly at Hibari, Hibari being a prickly little bastard, and then sex in the library. The characterization is pretty solid, there's obviously more going on than is just being said, but it doesn't need to be examined too closely. Hibari obviously cares about Dino, but reacts in the usual way for him and the close-ups on his face are really intense and there's this one moment with Hibird that's just. a;sldkjfa;lskj LOL. (Dino/Hibari, NC-17.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated) - Seinen Horeyasuku, Koi Narigatashi - You know. You look at the summary for a doujinshi like this and you kinda go "wtf" a lot and yet you read it anyway because it's Yamamoto/Hibari and it's. Well. Obviously I was attracted to it for the pairing and I think I've gone through this one raw before--I've seen work by the doujinshika somewhere, at any rate--but I'm glad I got to read it properly. It was surprisingly well done and really engaging, despite that I'm not usually that big of a fan of AUs. But somehow the characterization felt pretty on--for the most part, mind, it's still doujinshi--given the circumstances and I really liked the 8018 dynamic here. The art continues to grow on me as well. o/ (Yamamoto/Hibari, somewhere around NC-17.)

Doujinshi (scanslated) - Te Quiero - I was a little wary of this one at first, since it wasn't a doujinshika that I was familiar with and Dino wasn't drawn in my preferred style for him, but. D18 doujinshi is D18 doujinshi. And I'm really glad I picked it up anyway because al;sdkjfal;skj about halfway through just. LOL at Romario. The whole thing is really great, a lot of great little touches with Hibari's prickly personality and Dino's bright, sparkly personality and what they're both saying without really saying it. I love Dino's translations of Hibari's words and their minions on both sides get some GREAT moments and it's got a really adorable ending and just. I love D18 okay. Shut up. :| (Dino/Hibari.)
- Code Geass - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was innocently minding my own business on pixiv the other night and happened to stumble across a Lelouch/Shirley image. I clicked through some of the other Geass art, because, well, I was bored. And then I started following more links. And suddenly I was here! And it's one of those sites that I'm probably fonder of because it's my favorite pairing and because it's a rare pairing, but the artist really did some very nice stuff with soft colors and a lot of peaches and oranges that fit Shirley's character so well. But there's also this one of Shirley and Lelouch walking along, smiling and holding hands, and it's just so. a;sldkjfal;skj SO FREAKING CUTE and just what I want from fandom after the series. Not that it's all about them, but that's why I went here and why most people would, I think. Just. It put me in the right frame of mind again tonight. ♥ (Some Lelouch/Shirley, some other.)
- Code Geass - Sweet Pain Kiss [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Another site that I stumbled over because I was in the mood for Lelouch/Shirley and the site was super adorable and cute and just what I was looking for from the fandom. Not everything is perfect, there were some illustrations that I glossed over, but there were also a lot of them that were really cute or you could see how much time the artist had put into them. And, okay. I was really, really fond of the wedding picture, even aside from that it was a wedding picture because the artist made it lovely and captured CLAMP's style with the series well enough. ....but also kind of blended it with a shoujo style. Which I love, shut up, okay. The early art is a little rough, but give the site a little time and by the end, it's solid work. I genuinely enjoy it a lot, just for the art's sake alone. ♥ (Lelouch/Shirley.)
- Code Geass - Honey More [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I know there's not a ton of art here, I really only intended to whirl through the site and onto another series after this, but. The art was really solid and super cute and I loved the bright, solidly done colors, so I caved. Also, well, I'm weak for Shirley in cute clothes or only in a white shirt or being adorable with Lelouch. ♥ It's also one of those sites that has a bunch of other series on it, so I had a lot of fun looking around and it gave me my OTP fix and, well. That's all I ask of a site a lot of times. :D :D :D (Lelouch/Shirley.)
- Code Geass - Clear Moon [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's just something about this artist's style that I really love. In some illustrations, it's rather 90s-style and I don't know well that'll work for everyone, but in other illustrations the artist has a certain look to the art that's just... really lovely. The colors used are very pretty as well, very strong and vibrant at times. And, yeah, okay, the favorite pairing definitely helps win me over, but the art is strong and just... I'm at a loss to how to explain it. A lot of it, I suspect, is in the individual images, like Lelouch's head in Shirley's lap when she has angel wings or cute scenes of them in the grass. There's a certain something that charmed me in them that I just can't convey in text. Well, whatever reason, I enjoyed this site. <3 (Lelouch/Shirley.)
- Gundam 00 - ONSET [ Korean Fanart Site ] - I don't think this site will be for everyone, the art is very pointy and over sharp, but... I dunno, something about it still captured my attention and I found that I was enjoying just about every piece on the site. It helps that the artist is obviously fond of Tieria, so it's mostly stand alone art with him or Lockon/Tieria or Allelujah/Tieria, which I'm all about. And even the occasional Lockon/Tieria/Allelujah image. XD The colors are solid as well and there's just. Something I liked about this one, it was a nice stop on my fanart spree for the day. Also, there was a Graham/Tieria illustration and you know me and my love for odd pairings with my favorite bicycles. <3 (Lockon/Tieria, Allelujah/Tieria, Hallelujah/Tieria.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Okay. I originally came here for the Sailor Moon art, but saw that there was some interesting looking One Piece art on the main page, so I decided to check it out. And a;sdlkfja;lskjaslkj omfg this is why I love OP fanart hunting. The artist just nails the adventurous feeling of what One Piece art should be, the friendships and pure joy of the series. The early art might be a little on the simple side, but it really does a great job of capturing Oda's style and then getting steadily better at it. Just. The one of Nami and Nojiko laughing is worth the entire site, it's really fantastic. I enjoyed this so much. <3 (No warnings/pairings.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was actually still browsing Sailor Moon sites and happened to stumble over this one. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out where the OP catagory link is and, well, okay. I admit that I was attracted to this site for the Luffy/Nami art and it appeals to me a lot more because of that, but some of the art on the site is really kinda pretty, the artist does a really beautiful Nami and some adorable group art--there's one of Luffy lightly spraying Chopper with a hose that is SO CUTE OMG. But, yeah, my favorites were the pairing stuff, especially since there's actual makeouts, instead of just hand-holding and stuff. They tended to be the prettiest. *___* (Luffy/Nami.)
- Sailor Moon - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was a little wary of this site at first, there were a lot of questionable poses/concepts, but I'd seen a bit of the artist's work elsewhere and it was lovely stuff, so I kept on. I'm glad I did because, after a few links into the gallery, there is some very pretty, vibrantly colored stuff here. The group ones are especially pretty, the colors often times nearly glow off the page and Usagi is often super adorable. I think this is one of those sites, as long as you step carefully and are warned in advance, there's something for nearly everyone on the site, it's a lot of really cute stuff and occasional beautiful art and it just. Made me all nostalgic again. (Occasionally some random pairings, a lot of gen.)
- Sailor Moon - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Honestly, I expected the previous rec to be a one-off for tonight, I've attempted to scour for all Sailor Moon j-fanart sites before and usually exhaust all possibilities before finally giving up, so to find two new sites I liked is kind of boggling. But maybe part of that is that this site has a strong lean towards the Starlights, but, well. There's this really fantastic group illustration of them with Princess Kakyou and it's done in a really nice anime-cel-style that I totally had to cave on the site. My favorites were probably the Yaten ones (and I think maybe the artist's, too? though, it's a nicely balanced site, between the three of them) but it's a really good site for anyone who likes these characters. <3 (No real warnings/pairings.)
- Sailor Moon - A&E [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took me a bit to find the really pretty art on this site, but it was worth continuing through for. Because the artist does these really pretty colors, the kind that nearly glow and I'm horribly weak to. The sketch-like images are also nice, there's a great balance of the various Senshi characters, but it's really the fully-done art that gets my attention on the site. I love that the artist does so many different combinations of the characters, there's not a lot of favoritism here (aside from maybe a bit more Rei/Usagi than anything else), and all of it is just. Really cool and really pretty to look at. It's one of my recent favorites, I think. ♥ (No real warnings/pairings.)
- Yuu Yuu Hakusho - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, I completely was not expecting to stumble over YYH art. I didn't even plan to stick around on the site for long, I just wanted to check to see what kind of style the artist had. Hiei and Kurama were often in mid-battle poses or else they were just finishing a fight and it was just really kinda cool. The whole thing is really great, a lot of great little touches with Hibari's prickly personality and Dino's bright, sparkly personality and what they're both saying without really saying it. I love Dino's translations of Hibari's words and their minions on both sides get some GREAT moments and it's got a really adorable ending and just. I love D18 okay. Shut up. :| (Dino/Hibari.)
- Code Geass - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was innocently minding my own business on pixiv the other night and happened to stumble across a Lelouch/Shirley image. I clicked through some of the other Geass art, because, well, I was bored. And then I started following more links. And suddenly I was here! And it's one of those sites that I'm probably fonder of because it's my favorite pairing and because it's a rare pairing, but the artist really did some very nice stuff with soft colors and a lot of peaches and oranges that fit Shirley's character so well. But there's also this one of Shirley and Lelouch walking along, smiling and holding hands, and it's just so. a;sldkjfal;skj SO FREAKING CUTE and just what I want from fandom after the series. Not that it's all about them, but that's why I went here and why most people would, I think. Just. It put me in the right frame of mind again tonight. ♥ (Some Lelouch/Shirley, some other.)
- Code Geass - Sweet Pain Kiss [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Another site that I stumbled over because I was in the mood for Lelouch/Shirley and the site was super adorable and cute and just what I was looking for from the fandom. Not everything is perfect, there were some illustrations that I glossed over, but there were also a lot of them that were really cute or you could see how much time the artist had put into them. And, okay. I was really, really fond of the wedding picture, even aside from that it was a wedding picture because the artist made it lovely and captured CLAMP's style with the series well enough. ....but also kind of blended it with a shoujo style. Which I love, shut up, okay. The early art is a little rough, but give the site a little time and by the end, it's solid work. I genuinely enjoy it a lot, just for the art's sake alone. ♥ (Lelouch/Shirley.)
- Code Geass - Honey More [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I know there's not a ton of art here, I really only intended to whirl through the site and onto another series after this, but. The art was really solid and super cute and I loved the bright, solidly done colors, so I caved. Also, well, I'm weak for Shirley in cute clothes or only in a white shirt or being adorable with Lelouch. ♥ It's also one of those sites that has a bunch of other series on it, so I had a lot of fun looking around and it gave me my OTP fix and, well. - Code Geass - Clear Moon [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's just something about this artist's style that I really love. In some illustrations, it's rather 90s-style and I don't know well that'll work for everyone, but in other illustrations the artist has a certain look to the art that's just... really lovely. The colors used are very pretty as well, very strong and vibrant at times. And, yeah, okay, the favorite pairing definitely helps win me over, but the art is strong and just... I'm at a loss to how to explain it. A lot of it, I suspect, is in the individual images, like Lelouch's head in Shirley's lap when she has angel wings or cute scenes of them in the grass. There's a certain something that charmed me in them that I just can't convey in text. Well, whatever reason, I enjoyed this site. <3 (Lelouch/Shirley.)
- Gundam 00 - ONSET [ Korean Fanart Site ] - I don't think this site will be for everyone, the art is very pointy and over sharp, but... I dunno, something about it still captured my attention and I found that I was enjoying just about every piece on the site. It helps that the artist is obviously fond of Tieria, so it's mostly stand alone art with him or Lockon/Tieria or Allelujah/Tieria, which I'm all about. And even the occasional Lockon/Tieria/Allelujah image. XD The colors are solid as well and there's just. Something I liked about this one, it was a nice stop on my fanart spree for the day. Also, there was a Graham/Tieria illustration and you know me and my love for odd pairings with my favorite bicycles. <3 (Lockon/Tieria, Allelujah/Tieria, Hallelujah/Tieria.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Okay. I originally came here for the Sailor Moon art, but saw that there was some interesting looking One Piece art on the main page, so I decided to check it out. And a;sdlkfja;lskjaslkj omfg this is why I love OP fanart hunting. The artist just nails the adventurous feeling of what One Piece art should be, the friendships and pure joy of the series. The early art might be a little on the simple side, but it really does a great job of capturing Oda's style and then getting steadily better at it. Just. The one of Nami and Nojiko laughing is worth the entire site, it's really fantastic. I enjoyed this so much. <3 (No warnings/pairings.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was actually still browsing Sailor Moon sites and happened to stumble over this one. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out where the OP catagory link is and, well, okay. I admit that I was attracted to this site for the Luffy/Nami art and it appeals to me a lot more because of that, but some of the art on the site is really kinda pretty, the artist does a really beautiful Nami and some adorable group art--there's one of Luffy lightly spraying Chopper with a hose that is SO CUTE OMG. But, yeah, my favorites were the pairing stuff, especially since there's actual makeouts, instead of just hand-holding and stuff. They tended to be the prettiest. *___* (Luffy/Nami.)
- Sailor Moon - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was a little wary of this site at first, there were a lot of questionable poses/concepts, but I'd seen a bit of the artist's work elsewhere and it was lovely stuff, so I kept on. I'm glad I did because, after a few links into the gallery, there is some very pretty, vibrantly colored stuff here. The group ones are especially pretty, the colors often times nearly glow off the page and Usagi is often super adorable. I think this is one of those sites, as long as you step carefully and are warned in advance, there's something for nearly everyone on the site, it's a lot of really cute stuff and occasional beautiful art and it just. Made me all nostalgic again. (Occasionally some random pairings, a lot of gen.)
- Sailor Moon - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Honestly, I expected the previous rec to be a one-off for tonight, I've attempted to scour for all Sailor Moon j-fanart sites before and usually exhaust all possibilities before finally giving up, so to find two new sites I liked is kind of boggling. But maybe part of that is that this site has a strong lean towards the Starlights, but, well. There's this really fantastic group illustration of them with Princess Kakyou and it's done in a really nice anime-cel-style that I totally had to cave on the site. My favorites were probably the Yaten ones (and I think maybe the artist's, too? though, it's a nicely balanced site, between the three of them) but it's a really good site for anyone who likes these characters. <3 (No real warnings/pairings.)
- Sailor Moon - A&E [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took me a bit to find the really pretty art on this site, but it was worth continuing through for. Because the artist does these really pretty colors, the kind that nearly glow and I'm horribly weak to. The sketch-like images are also nice, there's a great balance of the various Senshi characters, but it's really the fully-done art that gets my attention on the site. I love that the artist does so many different combinations of the characters, there's not a lot of favoritism here (aside from maybe a bit more Rei/Usagi than anything else), and all of it is just. Really cool and really pretty to look at. It's one of my recent favorites, I think. ♥ (No real warnings/pairings.)
- Yuu Yuu Hakusho - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, I completely was not expecting to stumble over YYH art. I didn't even plan to stick around on the site for long, I just wanted to check to see what kind of style the artist had. And there's something about this art... it's partly that it captures the 90s style that the anime series had, but also partly that the first series of illustrations I stumbled over were kind of really awesome. Hiei and Kurama were often in mid-battle poses or else they were just finishing a fight and it was just really kinda cool. Then there were semi-smutty comic pages and we all know how weak I am to that as well. So it's one of those sites that was just a really awesome little treat to come across today! <3 (Hiei/Kurama.)
