ARASHI: Blue Screen of Death (or One Thing That Never Happened if Arashi Were in Fandom) by panpipe - Meg pointed this fic out to me and I think I've read the other fic with Arashi being a part of fandom as a bunch of BNFs and I loved it then and I love it now. The best part about this, aside from, you know, absolutely everything, is that how is this Sho's life? I love the Nino/Sho BFFery SO MUCH that I can hardly stand it, especially because Nino's such a little shit, but that the rest of Arashi are in there as well (a;sldifjas;lkj my love for Jun and his silly girly crush on pretty much all of them, even if he has dignity about it with about half of them) and it's just. They map so well onto fandom with this fic! SO MUCH FUN. (Ohmiya, with a little background other and if you like Sho/Nino, you should like this.)
Chuck: the crash was so unkind by green_postit - I don't think I would have been able to read this fic if I hadn't read a bunch of G/PG rated one-sided Bryce/Chuck fics the other day--not through any fault of the author's, but because of my own issues with the pairing, but I think I've worked my way up to at least wanting some makeouts from them. And this fic... well, I did skim the porn (since I'm personally not there yet, despite that it's beautifully written) and instead what I really liked about this, what made it a good fic for me to read at this point in time, was the longing on both sides, the attraction that neither of them did anything about, because if I'm going to see Bryce/Chuck back in Stanford, I can't imagine that much happened, but I can see the feelings there. And this author really has a way with the more painful, raw emotions that make such an intense fic. *__* (Bryce/Chuck, NC-17.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Sneakalude by botling - asdfkljalsjk god I love Bel/Squalo fic so much. I'm not even sure why, other than that it amuses me and it would be kind of really hot and Squalo would probably want to have a fit over it. And this was just a short piece, but so much fun, Bel just randomly deciding to go bother Squalo and accomplishing his mission very handily. Also, Bel attacking Squalo in the shower? ........do want. Do want a lot. *__* (Bel/Squalo.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Innocence lost by tredecaphobia - I'm not sure that I fully agree with the ending of this fic (in the sense that it's my personal opinion, not that I feel the author is wrong, just that we landed on slightly different opinions!) that Hibari should have the description "innocence lost" on him or that one should feel sorry for him, because I kind of suspect that he came out of the womb just exactly as he is now and there is absolutely nothing that Hibari lacks... but it's just a brief mention at the end of the fic and the rest of it is really interesting. What I liked about the fic was the way it started out, with Hibari unconscious and he does look really frail and thin and almost weak. I love that contrast, I love that the tiny little stick is the strongest of the Vongola Guardians by far, that the frail-looking one is the monster in strength. I love that it's Hibari's attitude that makes him a scary little bastard and I love that he is IC here, where he doesn't really care about much, that he's not secretly upset or spastic, he just. Doesn't care. Plus the writing is nice and I really did honestly enjoy this fic a lot. (This is entirely gen, but if you like Dino/Hibari you might like this.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: What Romario Doesn't Know by cleartempest - Okay, the thing about this fic. I suspect you'll have to be an already established fan of D18 before you read it in order to enjoy it and... you have to look at this as something sort of like a doujinshi or like the NC-17 version of the Daily Life arc of the manga. It's completely on crack and that is what makes it funny. And, I know. After my time in Tenipuri fandom, I got really tired of crack just for crack's sake, but I'll never get tired of doujinshi style crack when it's done in such a way that it's actually funny. And Romario having to hide in the closet so Dino can perform properly and Romario's thoughts through the whole thing and Hibari in a skirt and the porn and just. ;alksjdfl;asjk crying it's hilarious and god I love Hibari so much as Romario is finally getting to leave and al;sdkjfa;lsjk just. LOL. If you like D18 doujin, I think you should be okay here. (Dino/Hibari, a hard R or so, I'd say.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Champion Shots by botling - This is just a short piece, but... I dunno, for as much as Longchamp didn't grab me in the manga, somehow he comes across much better in fic. (Or else I've just matured in taste, who knows. XD) And this is an AU, but you don't really need to know the details of it, it's just a short scene where they go out drinking and it's fun to read, a nice treat this afternoon. (No warnings/pairings.)
Merlin: Disguises and Imposters by Corona - Oh, god, crying. Just. Crying so hard. There are certain plots that always come up in fandom that I'm usually just not one that's much for them, the cross-dressing plot is usually one of them. But between this fandom and this fic, I just... I cannot resist. Especially when, oh, god, there were so many scenes here that had me practically crying with laughter, so many lines that I really wanted to quote because they summed Merlin's life up so completely and I could just see these scenes playing out. It's the kind of premise (Arthur wants to know what all the women say about him when they gather in groups and look his way, so he has to send someone in to infiltrate their ranks and it goes about as you expect it to) that really works for such a fic, it never forgets the humor but it also works in real characterization and there was some really hot dress!porn at the end and, oh, man, Morgana. She was so wonderful in this and I actually kind of want Morgana/Merlin interaction now, maybe even a light implied something, because it would be so fantastic, but mostly she's just super-awesome on her own here. And Merlin's interaction with EVERYONE. Oh, god. So, so much crying at the hilarity of it all. (Arthur/Merlin, sort of Merlin/Morgana, OMC/Merlin, Uther/Merlin, sort of... well.)
Merlin: A Discussion on the Breeding and Training of Horses by phantomjam - Well, I'm hardly ever one to turn down porn in a fandom, at least not while I'm in the middle of watching the show and really need some temporary resolution to all the UST. And it's another sort of thing that I don't often read, secretive blowjobs in public, but somehow Merlin fandom gets me to read stuff I otherwise wouldn't. And this was very nice, it was a good blowjob and asldkfjaslkj I loved how much fun it was and the face-touching at the end was kind of hot, too. *__* (Arthur/Merlin, NC-17.)
Merlin: Silver by Corona - After the author's previous fic, I kind of pined for more interaction between Merlin and Morgana, because it was so fantastic and full of so much potential. So when I saw this fic by the author as well, I had to zip over to read it and it delivered so, so much. I love every inch of this piece, it's the kind that would be so easy to see slipping into canon and makes me love both of them so very much. Morgana using Merlin to help her match her clothes, teasing him the entire time in that way she has, being so regal and lovely and wonderful, but not going too far, just being... the character that I'm steadily falling for. I loved the sense that maybe there might have been something there, maybe some beginnings of attraction, or it might have just been friendship, because it felt very much like their interaction in 1x08, just totally spot-on. I adored this fic beyond reason. (No real warnings/pairings, I wouldn't say.)
Merlin: the history of everything by green_postit - I know the series is a bit of a silly, fun romp that's not about anything particularly serious most of the time (dramatic plots aside) but there's something so, so gorgeous about this fic that the author is rocketing her way up my list of favorites in this fandom. It's a bit darker, it takes all the little touches that we occasionally see and winds them up to something that's almost a little painful here, Arthur's obsessive nature when it comes to Merlin, the sense of destiny and yet everything is almost sort of wobbly around them (as most Arthurian legends tend to eventually become, no matter how strong the start) and just a little off in this really delicious sort of way. There's a roughness to Arthur's character and while it makes me hurt for him (and Merlin as well), it's a gorgeous, fascinating look at the slightly darker side of things. And asl;dfjkalskj holy mother of christ it was hot, too. *__* (Arthur/Merlin, NC-17.)
Merlin: Possession by waldorph - So, I had to wander over here to read the fic that the previous one was a response to and it's not quite as subtly heartbreaking as the first, instead this one focuses more on the posessive aspect of their relationship in a way that leads to porn, rather than giving the sense of doom for everyone and not that that fic wasn't gorgeous but thank god for this one because I can only take so much before I need my super hot pwp without strings attached. And, man, I love that Arthur is this kind of person, he would be posessive and a little obsessive and Merlin obviously loves him a lot and does so for a reason but he's still long-suffering and, as;dlfkjaslkj, I cannot blame him for being kind of turned on by posessive!Arthur because that would be really hot. And it's up against the wall sex and Merlin is still very sure that he could probably kill Arthur if he wanted to, but he's kind of busy with this brain melting out his ears and all and just. a;lsjkfsljk I have needs and this fic did a marvelous job of filling them. *__* (Arthur/Merlin, implied Gwen/Morgana, NC-17.)
Ouran Koukou Host Club: a matter of perspective by incarnedine - I continue to marvel that it always seems to be Kyouya/Haruhi that brings me back to Host Club fandom, when it's not the pairing I ship the hardest for either of them. But I adore it unreasonably and it's the one that I tend to have the most fun playing with when it comes to fic, the one with the most ground to cover, the one that lends itself to introspection the most, it often feels like. And this was an interesting piece, just a short thing from Kyouya's perspective during volume five, during the "refreshing" vacation storyline, about how he sees their group and why he hangs back. I liked the use of the fence as a metaphor for why he holds himself back from Haruhi, I liked how she didn't pay any attention to that or fit into what his worldview was, she was just herself. It was nice. <3 (Kyouya/Haruhi.)
Prince of Tennis: questions and answers by Asael - I was browsing through the author's REBORN! fics and happened to stumble over her TezuFuji fic and, apparently, I'm still in the mood for those two. Especially when it's written like this, where their relationship is mysterious to those outside of it, no one else really quite gets what they see in each other, but that's fine with both of them because they like those things that are just for them. The writing is clean and solid, really pulling off both characters wonderfully, capturing all those little details of the two of them that totally make the pairing. Just. a sl;dfkjasl;j yes, this is what they should be. (Tezuka/Fuji.)
Prince of Tennis: bearing gifts by Asael - asl;dkfjaslk god I love Tezuka and Fuji. I love how simple a concept this is, there's a mysterious cupcake left on Tezuka's desk along with a note from Fuji, and the author doesn't try to overdo it but doesn't try to simplify it either. I love that it's not really that deep in meaning, yet Fuji is still Fuji about it. Plus, the ending was adorable and totally perfect for this short fic. <3 (Tezuka/Fuji.)
Prince of Tennis: catch of the day by Asael - This fic is fabulous. As if Fuji going along on a fishing trip with Tezuka (that's not sappy or overdone, it's that same quiet contentment they have around each other) wasn't great enough, Fuji is whimsical and almost kind of silly, but the author makes it work. She takes what would have felt out of place as being too obvious for this pairing, the story that Fuji spins, and then makes it perfectly plausible to me because asl;dkfjalsji yes. Fuji would think that sometimes. And a;sdlkfjaslkj her Tezuka! Serious and stoic, but not without his sense of humor! Yes, that is what I want from Tezuka. And just. a;lsdjfalskj this was a great little ficlet. (Tezuka/Fuji.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated) - Sons of the Sawada Family + Time Travelers - asd;lfjkasl;kj I love Banyu so much that I could explode from it. The first story wasn't her usual stuff (or at least not the D18 that I usually read from her), instead a Tsuna/Basil story that was really cute and neat to see her art on different characters, but it was once Gokudera showed up that I kind of started to LOL a lot. Especially as you realized the implication of just what exact Iemitsu had been teaching Basil and why. (as;dlfkjasl god I love Iemitsu.) The second one was just. asl;dkfjasljk The Vongola family (plus Reborn and Dino) at the beach to celebrate the post-Varia victory and Dino's all over Hibari and trying to get the right mood and the rest of them are just in the usual total chaos and it really felt like a Daily Life arc that fit in with the manga so well. Add in Banyu's gorgeous, gorgeous art and her TOTAL LOL storytelling and the beautiful job she did with the chaotic family and just. as;ldfjkaslkj SO MUCH FUN AND SO GOOD. (Tsuna/Basil and a little Tsuna/Gokudera for the first one. Dino/Hibari for the second one, but it's not really the main point.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated) - various (from Natsuroku) - Man, I still love that gorgeous as hell cover illustration by Banyu. This is a collection of even shorter stories than usual, most of them are only 6 pages long or less, but I found that I didn't really mind so much because the first one... well, Hibari basically gets his way (when he gets Dino to build him a Japanese-style house in Italy for while he stays there temporarily) by basically playing to Dino's dirty imagination and it actually works way better in the doujinshi than what I'm making it sound like and was TOTAL LOL. Plus, the art is gorgeous. And then a brief Yamamoto/Gokudera story and then SQUALO GOES TO VISIT DINO AND HIBARI. And OH MY GOD LOL LOL LOL HIBARI'S REACTION TO THE GATHERED PARTY. LOL FOREVER. Just. So, so beautiful. <3 (Dino/Hibari, Yamamoto/Gokudera, some background Tsuna/Basil.)

The first story wasn't her usual stuff (or at least not the D18 that I usually read from her), instead a Tsuna/Basil story that was really cute and neat to see her art on different characters, but it was once Gokudera showed up that I kind of started to LOL a lot. Especially as you realized the implication of just what exact Iemitsu had been teaching Basil and why. (as;dlfkjasl god I love Iemitsu.) The second one was just. asl;dkfjasljk The Vongola family (plus Reborn and Dino) at the beach to celebrate the post-Varia victory and Dino's all over Hibari and trying to get the right mood and the rest of them are just in the usual total chaos and it really felt like a Daily Life arc that fit in with the manga so well. Add in Banyu's gorgeous, gorgeous art and her TOTAL LOL storytelling and the beautiful job she did with the chaotic family and just. as;ldfjkaslkj SO MUCH FUN AND SO GOOD. (Tsuna/Basil and a little Tsuna/Gokudera for the first one. Dino/Hibari for the second one, but it's not really the main point.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated) - various (from Natsuroku) - Man, I still love that gorgeous as hell cover illustration by Banyu. This is a collection of even shorter stories than usual, most of them are only 6 pages long or less, but I found that I didn't really mind so much because the first one... well, Hibari basically gets his way (when he gets Dino to build him a Japanese-style house in Italy for while he stays there temporarily) by basically playing to Dino's dirty imagination and it actually works way better in the doujinshi than what I'm making it sound like and was TOTAL LOL. Plus, the art is gorgeous. And then a brief Yamamoto/Gokudera story and then SQUALO GOES TO VISIT DINO AND HIBARI. And OH MY GOD LOL LOL LOL HIBARI'S REACTION TO THE GATHERED PARTY. LOL FOREVER.
