ARASHI: this time we'll find a place by twotiming - OMG YES. Shun/Jun fic! WHY NOT MORE OF THIS FANDOM? But I kind of really liked this because it contained Shun being kind of loopy and Jun trying to keep his dignity and ignoring Shun's stupidity, which of course is doomed to failure, and then Jun being playful by imitating Mao-chan with a Hanadan injoke and a kind of really super-hot image of Jun climbing into Shun's lap. I-- I won't lie, that image stayed with me for awhile. *__* (Oguri Shun/Matsumoto Jun.)
ARASHI: untitled drabbles by Circe - You know what I love? Just utterly and truly love? Aside from fics that feature all of the group being a bunch of gay retards together, that is. Is when an author sets a ficlet around a particular indicident in Arashi canon, about an interview or a special TV appearance or one of their shows or whatever. I love the connection to the actual canon, I love how I can so easily see them having taken place while the cameras weren't around, especially when done beautifully like these ones. And I love these more than I can say, because Ohno calling Nino after he kissed a girlboy and being a little shit with him? Aiba and Jun and Nino fiddling around with Sho's clothes elsewhere and Ohno using that time to snap a picture of him for Hanamaru Cafe? Nino and Jun in the aftermath of taking care of a kid for Himitsu? Especially when they're bitching at each other OUT OF LOVE? Oh my god so much DO WANT and YES PLZ here. Even if I would totally be up for Jun's interpretation in that last one. *___* (.....Arashi/Arashi, maybe a little extra Nino/Jun or Ohmiya in certain ones.)
Gokusen: [untitled zombie crack!fic] by anenko - a;lsdjasklj this is quite possibly the most IC zombie fic I have ever read. I mean, I love a good zombiefic, but have Yankumi be so completely and utterly Yankumi? Stressing the importance of learning even in the middle of a zombie attack and giving her typical speeches and the denseness that you can feel through the narration? asldkfjalsjk good lord, LOL. This was fabulous. (No real warnings/pairings.)
Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger: Fine Dining by Whisper - I just. asl;dkfja;lskj *flaps hands uselessly* I don't know what's the best part of this fic--the Gou/Rio dynamic or the clothes or the little details (I keep dying every time I get to: "Can I help you gentlemen?" The waiter seemed like Retsu's type. Maybe Gou could get a phone number and arrange a date for them - anything was better for Retsu than the kid in the fur underwear. asldkfjaslkj seriously lol) or just... well, everything. Gou and Rio. Out for a nice dinner. It goes about as well as you'd expect it to go. And OMG the idea of Rio ordering, like, every dessert ever just fills me with utter glee the way this author does it. (Gou/Rio, blink and you'll miss it Jan/Retsu.)
Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger: 01 - Body & 02 - Men by Tayles - This was very cute! I liked the line the author walked with Retsu, having him both irritated by Jan and yet obviously fond of him at the same time, it's an interesting mix that made me really like the pairing in the first place. Plus, the second ficlet in this post was really cute because I ♥ Ran and her observations on stupid boys something fierce. (Jan/Retsu.)
Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger: Always in Trouble, Only the Depth Varies by megthelegend - Ken is not a character I would have thought I'd find myself often reading about, but with certain authors I just can't help myself. And this was really fun--it's kind of a good question. What does Ken do with his day when there's no battle, when he's full, and he's already trained for several hours? Plus, I love that Miki totally OWNS in this fic, because you know without a doubt that she totally would. <3 (No warnings/pairings.)
Kamen Rider Den-O: Amusements by Whisper - ;alsdkfjaslkj I kind of despaired of finding much Den-O fic with Yuuto and Ryoutarou in fandom, but! Even if this wasn't even quite 400 words, it's one of those fics that makes me that much more satisfied with fandom because. Because. Because it's Ryoutarou and Yuuto at an amusement park and Yuuto is acting about as you'd expect Yuuto to act (NOTHING makes him happy, Ryoutarou knows, oh, god, I was kind of dying) and full of great little moments and costumes and junk food and I-- yes plz. (Yuuto/Ryoutarou.)
Kamen Rider Kabuto: untitled by EstiRose - Okay, this was really, really cute and fun. I adored the Zecters in this series, I totally think they have personalities, too, and obviously I do kinda ship them right along with their human partners. So. A fic that starts out with Gatack having gotten Kabuto pregenant? I should be going ".....", but because of the way the author wrote it, I am DELIGHTED at this. Just. AHAHAHA OMG YES. ♥ (Kagami/Tendou implied.)
Nobuta wo Produce: These are the Facts by Pero - You know, it's been ages since I've read Nobuta fic, so I wandered over to this one pretty much as soon as it was posted. And I really love it when Pero writes Nobuta fic because her humorous writing and her fantastic timing are put to such great use with this series, she writes a fantastic Akira pov here. I love that it's almost sort of just an ordinary day as they go on with their lives and school and everything else, Akira being Akira and Shuuji being Shuuji and then somehow it just sort of hits Akira, how he feels. It seems like that's totally how it'd go. I don't think I stopped smiling through this whole piece. <3 (Akira/Shuuji.)
Prince of Tennis: What Is Essential by measuringlife - I've long had such a great fondness for measuringlife's style of writing, she captures this sense that's... almost dreamlike, a narrative that flows from one scene to the next in an almost delicate sort of way, and it's a style I've come to be really fond of with Tezuka and Fuji. I also have a fondness for futurefics when done right, even if Tezuka can't play much tennis anymore (despite that I'm of the opinion that this was Prince of Tennis and reality and what should be impossible for characters NEED NOT APPLY XD) which worked for this particular fic because that old tension between him and Fuji is still there and it was used to further that. I also love the use of The Little Prince and the cafe they meet in, it's just. A lovely fic. <3 (Tezuka/Fuji.)
