- Bleach - but it is hardly suitable for delicate boys by Tal - Isshin/Masaki fic! HARTS. Especially because it's this lovely moment, the writing has this really pretty intimacy or immediacy or something like that that made me feel like I was in the middle of the scene with them. There are these little turns of phrase that make such lovely imagery as well, the final paragraph of this piece particularily beautiful. (Isshin/Masaki.)

- Cardcaptor Sakura - CCS: Bamboo, Pine and Peach: From Old Wood by Branch - [Note: This fic is part of a series, which you can find the previous stories by clicking on the tags on the post.] This is a story about the possibility of Touya's returning magic, which is one of those things that never made sense to me in CCS (Touya's magic being gone for good--if Sakura can get "low" on magic because the cards are draining so much from her and be tired, then regenerate, wouldn't it only make sense that Touya's magic would work exactly the same way, so that when Sakura became stronger, Yue would draw from her instead? ....uh, not that I go on too long or anything.) so to see Branch address it so much like how I see it, to see it shown in a lovely, descriptive way, to weave it together in her larger storyline with Yukito/Yue post-manga... well, I'm very happy to see her posting more about this. It's the kind of fic I want and it's very nice writing. Oh, CCS fandom, sometimes you might drive me crazy, but sometimes I really love being here, too. ♥ (Implications of Touya/Yukito/Yue.)

- Cardcaptor Sakura - Return by Laurus Nobilis - This is a really lovely take on the theme from 31_days, a really interesting look at Clow Reed in his own time, as his own character. There's a sense of... not being the tragic magician who had too much power or the silly, smiling magician who had an evil sense of humor, but something in between, something very... human about him, despite that there's an air of legend about him, too. I can't really say it better than that, it's almost a simple piece, but so full of little details and smooth writing that I just adored it, it reminds me of why Clow is one of my favorite CLAMP characters. ♥ (No warnings/pairings.)

- Final Fantasy XII - Magick by edenbound - I was browsing ff_press after awhile away from FF fandom (which I'm slowly wandering back towards) and I was curious about the Balthier/Fran NC-17 fic, so I decided to click on it. This was a nice piece, short but satisfying enough to make me want to claw at fandom a little less for those two to get laid. It could have been awkward between these two, since they're so... well, Balthier and Fran, but I liked the way this author wrote them, it's smooth, clean writing and very nice hetsmut. How often does that happen? Much less for these two. <3 (Balthier/Fran, NC-17.)

- JE - Four Ways Yamapi Reassures Himself That Jin is Really Home and One Way Jin Reassures Yamapi by wintersjuly - One of the few good things about my jpop flist being taken over my news of Jin's return (shut up, I like Jin, really!) is that some of the Pinfic that's come out has been fabulous. And I have a great love of "five things" stories in the right author's hands and wintersjuly does them so well, each story idea is clever and interesting and can stand on its own, I feel satisfied after reading them. And I love how much emotion she can convey between Jin and Yamapi, how they're still such idiotic boys even when they missed each other a lot and they're finding geniously clever dumb ways to show they're both glad Jin is back. Just. Oh, I love these two and Jin's beautiful, beautiful retardation. ♥ (Jin/Yamapi.)

- JE - My Silhouette Lover by annnimeee - I don't know if I would have read this fic (since I'm barely even qualified to be on the fringes of KAT-TUN or NEWS fandoms), but the author wrote one of my favorite Nobuta fics, so I figured I'd give it a shot. And, naturally, wound up shrieking with laughter the entire way through the fic, because there are so many moments of beautiful hilarity that I think I may have actually almost cried a little at one point. It's even better that there are slight hints of Pikame (omg, do you know how badly I need good Pikame fic??), but that it doesn't ignore the retarded beautiful relationships between the other people--I was especially fond of Jin and Yamapi being morons-maybe-geniuses-no-wait-just-morons a lot of the time. But everyone gets their turn in the spotlight, which is sort of amazing, given how many boyband members there are, yet it never feels like the flow of the story was interrupted. And, okay, how can you resist a fic with this line: but KATTTUNNYSTK followed the new recording order that NEWS and KAT-TUN did: record the video first and the song second in the event of an unexpected member change. *cries with laughter* (A little Kame/Pi, but it's mostly a gen fic.)

- Juuni Kokki - In the Garden, An Emperor by Katharos - Oh, this was a beautiful Taiki-stuck-in-Hourai piece that was breathtakingly perfect. The details, the implications that only the reader knows, the incredibly lovely way the author painted Taiki's emotions and the almost physically painful ache of something being missing without him knowing what, all wrapped up in gorgeous imagery. Such a beautiful, beautiful piece. ♥_♥ (No warnings/pairings.)

- Prince of Tennis - So a Funny Thing Happened on the Way Home by cinamaroll - It seems like it's been forever that I've been wanting just one really good Bane/Davide fic to fill that urge for them. And, god, this fic was so fantastically fun and perfect for them, right down to the terrible puns and spot-on characterization. They're such boys, both of them, they're so very clearly Rokkaku boys who love tennis (I love that they really do love tennis, I love that even when they're doing other stuff, you can still feel that) and have a special friendship that works in its own way and it's never over the top or anything but flail-inducingly perfect. I can't even write a decent rec for this one, I'm just so damn flaily over how every inch of it was perfect. Just. This is what Prince of Tennis fic should be. Right from the beginning, right from Rokkaku kicking the crap out of Hyoutei's non-regulars in an informal match, they're just so perfectly them that I both want a million more Rokkaku fics and never need another one again now that I've read this one, both at the same time. And I mentioned that the puns were awesome? Because they were. (Bane/Davide.)

- Princess Tutu - Frightening Things by Mithrigil Galtirglin - I am not sure what to say about this fic, other than that the author has a certain style that works well with the series. It's not something I can put into words, it's similar to the style she uses for her FFXII fic, the kind that leaves me with a certain feeling of detail and loveliness, but that's about where my words fail me. Which is my fault, not the author's, because this is a lovely piece with so much going on underneath the surface of it, so much that's left unsaid that's expressed more through the story Fakia is writing and the things that happen in his life, rather than being directly said. Very nice, I hope to see more Tutu fic from the author. ♥ (Some Fakia/Ahiru implied.)

- Spirited Away/Okami - Wolf Heaven Bath by canis_m - Oh, this was a breathtakingly beautiful fic, two worlds that fit together so wonderfully and with such gorgeous writing that it makes me ache a little. The way Haku sees Amaterasu as she runs by, the language the author used to describe her, even the lush, gorgeous scenery described around the characters (at the Sparrow Inn! Omg, so cute!), the way the imagery and tones of each series blend so seamlessly here is amazing. There are even little details that are fabulous--like the "suddenly nightfall" bit, eeeee!--and weave together an anime with a video game and it's just... perfect. ♥ (Some Haku/Chihiro, but it's not entirely the point.)

NEW GOAL: 537/1500
