..Yesterday I went to another walk around Rome XD
Sorry if I don't post anymore gay porn and the like T_T
Going back to the subject of this post, an interesting bit was that Piazza Venezia was a pedestrian area! OOOH, it was great! The whole Via dei Fori Imperiali and the square, free from the Roman traffic∼
We had to thank some demostration pro-Palestine... The whole place was packed with police, but honestly, it was a blessing.
Anyway, I went there 'cause I finally managed to reserve a spot for the
Augustus show at the Imperial Forum (IT WAS FREAKING GREAT D:), but since it was a late show, I profitted to take a walk around to take some pics for
my blog, and most importantly, to eat some things XD
First of all, even if my touristic walk was dedicated to the Roman liberty buildings, I also entertained myself with some Baroque.
Rome is pretty much a Baroque city, and I love this style.
People are usually ranting for ever about Reinassance, which is quite cool, but I favour my Baroque over everything. It's showy, passionate, WTF-- An artistic style that totally fits the city of Rome and the cultural, political mess of the time.
I took a peek at the
church of Sant'Ignazio di Loyola, a Jesuit church famous for its absurd perspectives by
Andrea Pozzo.
Here's a picture, featuring the allegory of America:
--She looks quite pissed ^_^;
First, though, I decided to give a try to these freakin' macarons that I heard talking about everywhere!
--It's fun that I visited France twice and never cared about them, so I had my first macarons here in Rome >_>
Since I went to
a fancy place, I just had two (it was just to have a taste out of curiosity, after all)... The purplish one was blackberry+pansies flavoured (♥ ), the other was chocolate and caramel orange (or something like that, I don't really remember XD):
Like everything French, I couldn't understand a bit about the flavours, but they were tasty indeed D: Soft, crispy and creamy at the same time! I can understand how people got addicted to them... Next time I'll buy a package of mixed flavours :D
For dinner I went to one of my favourite fast-food thingies,
Lasagnam.
I usually have a very conventional Bolognese lasagna or Cannelloni menù, but someday I'll have to try one of their weird lasagna combinations XDD
--Cannelloni in the picture :D Very good and light!
--And well, this is all, I'm going to watch my new episode of
The Paradise now *_*
BBC is the best. Fullstop.
