Sorry for the monotony of my recent posts, but yesterday I finally managed to watch Dorian Gray (2009) movie and I felt the need to write my disappointment here ( Read more... )

I think that they showed him at the beginning, when Dorian first met Sibyl in the orchand (...)-- Anyway, yeah, I always wondered about James' cool adventures as a seaman *__* I think that he had to look quite cool, all manly and tattoed ;_; !!!

They are adorable ♥
And both Basil and Henry did look like old men ._. In the book they are called "young men", so I was expecting to be shown pretty boys in their early 30s XD
in the book Henry had some kind of goatee, though. I started to think about George Michael XDDD
While browsing the intraweb for inspirations, I got to find about a comic rendition of the book: http://www.comicbookresources.com/images/previews/marvelcomics/illustrated/preview/MARILPODG001_int-4.jpg
I was amused by how the characters are portrayed there:
Basil looks quite cool, too ♥
--Now that you told me, though, I can totally see Henry sporting the same haircut as Colin Firth as Darcy in the movie ._. ..!

It's so tragic XD But one could think that Bosie was posinmg as a Dorian of sort, since he managed to read the book over 10 times XD
I read about their lives too, and Bosie was really terrible ;_; I saw that he wrote lots of essays over Oscar's work, I wonder what he said about him... He was a terrible person, but he still looked to keep some kind of artist's vein.
What do you think? I found some of his poetries but I can't tell-- I don't understand poetry >_>; ...
Also, poor Robbie reminded me of Basil XD

Oh that comic Basil-- *SWOON*

I think perhaps Bosie thought of himself as a Dorian XD Even if he did look like him already, he was beautiful as a youth. Have you seen John Gray? ♥ Sigh~ why were Oscar and his boys all so beautiful ;_; Even if Robbie Ross was a bald later in his life, he even had his ashes buried with Oscar T_T SO ROMANTIC

I have a book of Bosie's poetry somewhere... it's not the worst but he isn't Oscar XD I've read some of Olive's poetry too (Bosie's wife who he married after Oscar passed away) and she is precious but XD

I love Oscar so much though ;_; Such a beautiful and tragic figure, even if he did terrible things too. I did a small painting of him once, I keep it on my shelf with a copy of Salomé and a green carnation ;_______;

*i tried to reply earlier but my post got eaten ;_;*

Yes, it's amusing, isn't it ;o; ?!!
I loike this idea of Henry as the pretty, groomed guy and Basil as the grumpy, scruffy one <3

I'm starting to think that all the gay stuff of Bosie was actually a pose... He was just being rebellious to his father and probably wanted to "play" that role...Dunno!
And Oscar was sure surrounded by pretty boys-- Of course none would like to be surrounded by ugly guys, LOL!
John Gray was quite pretty too ;o; I really liked his rendition in the movie too!
Robbie ;_; ♥ I really wished that he and Oscar were happier together... But probably when Robbie was taking care of Oscar in his last days, Oscar was still thinking about Bosie ._.;

AWWWW, YOU ARE SO CUTE ;_; ..! I was considering to visit Oscar grave or birthplace during my next vacations, but since I can get days off from work only during late autumn/winter-- I think that it's going to be difficult XD
...I'm so sick of getting to visit places only when the weather is horrible and cold T_T; (we're talking about countries with shitty weather like France and Dublin already T_T;) ...

About Bosie - no, I think he was gay through and through - even Olive, his wife, referred to herself as "his little page boy" and he said things to her 'I used to wish that you were a boy, now I am glad you are not' D: BUT his whole family had a history of crazy. And his only child was put in a mental institution, so he has no descendents (unlike Oscar whose son Vyvyan had a son Merlin, and Merlin's son Lucian *__*) I know too much about all this, LOL. I'm serious, it is my obsession XDDD

Robbie is my favourite, though, so loyal and true to the end ;______; Even if not as pretty as Bosie or John Gray.

I want to visit Pere Lachaise someday as well, but I have never even been out of USA ;_; And it is SO expensive to get over to Europe for a broke student who can't even pay bills XD But yes, weather in UK in particular not known for being great at the BEST of times, let alone in shitty winter ;_; Someday I will go over there ToT!!!

Well, LOL, Olive was kinda bisexual too, so one can guess that she was kinda amused by the situation XD I don't know, those times were so weird! I can barely take something seriously XD
Though, Bosie sure was a weird fellow. No wonder his son came out like that.
Oh, no worries, obsess to your heart content! I have Wikipedia, ahah >D

Yes, of course ;_;
So faithful, caring and loyal 'til the end.... DIDN'T I TELL YOU THAT HE'S LIKE POOR BASIL ;o; ?!!

I can see your point, probably the only positive thing about living in Europe is that you can go around quite easily, and the money is the same everywhere XD Seriously, when I went to Holland for a short trip with a friend it was SO COMFY (Well, but I had some troubles with the fixation of these richer countries for credit cards XD The most I have is ATM x'D)!! But every now and then we were taken for French tourists and they started to speak French at us ò_o-- I was like "WHAT THE FUCK, IS MY ENGLISH SO BAD ;_; ?!" lol x'DD
