Yep, I couldn't resist to the schedule of some online friends and I decided to join them in another trip to Tokyo ^_^;
They're staying around 3 weeks, but I got home after just one week because of money, other things to do and such-- Considering that I'm late on my doujin-schedule for YaYCon this was probably a wrong move freetime-wise, but you know, I got back from there quite energized and inspired, I think that this quick trip did me pretty good!
Now, onto a short summary with the places that I visited and the crap that I bought (LOL XD)... In the next days I'm going to make dedicated posts over certain events that I attended, and once I got the ok from my trip-mates I'll post all the other pictures on Facebook :3
--The guy who was taking this picture kept saying "It looks as if you're about to poo LOLOL" and I couldn't keep a straight face XD
On the other hand, the Japanese guys dowstairs looking up at me with that typically Japanese "bothered" expression feel kinda WTF XD
To save some money we decided to book our flight with Aeroflot, the Russian Airline.
It was ok, I guess, but not the most comfortable trip ever: the fact that we had to transit on Moscow and the whole trip lasted something like 15 hours-- IT WASN'T HE BEST SCENARIO EVER.
Plus, Russia is COLD XD
Above you can see a picture that I managed to take on the way back :D Quite impressive, uh :D ?!
The Russian food--- Must not be taken lightly.
I ate everything on the first trip and I pooed the worst poo in my whole life ò_o I didn't feel sick, but I skipped some meals every now and then because I didn't feel as if my digestive apparatus was in its best shape...
On the day of our arrival we did nothing but travel to get to the hotel XD Moving around with so many people was quite vexing. It's going to be the last time that I ever try such a thing XD
In the end the only thing that we managed to check that day was Character Street at Tokyo Station.
I was looking forward to it because of its Jump Store, but in the end it was filled with One Piece stuff the most :/ I was expecting more Naruto and Beelzebub, for a change.
A tripmate bought a Beeze's plushie under my suggestion XD Here I am posing with it ;D !
The day after, our first stop was obviously AKIHABARA :D
I don't care if it's unoriginal, THIS IS MY MOST FAVOURITE TOKYO PLACE (close second is Ueno!).
I always manage to find cool stuff here, and it's generally filled with awesomeness!
The first part of my booty consists of a Char's notebook from the Gundam Cafe and a THOUSAND doujinshi from Mandarake. I prefer K-BOOKS over Mandarake when it comes to doujin (expecialy because Mandarake's doujnshi catalogation makes NO SENSE), but since there was so little time to look around I decided to go there, since walking around Mandarake is just a pleasant experience on its own ^^
This year my doujinshi priority were Gundam (expecially the older, UC series) and the usual ItaSasu, but in the end I managed to buy a good ammount of TIGER&BUNNY (mostly Antonio/Kotetsu and viceversa) and something shiny here and there.
I bought only three figures this year! That awesome Rei's figure (I have the moe version of this figure, but now that I have this I can get rid of that!), a cute Rock Bison gashapon and a mini Baki figure ;3; !! But the hottest item was this limited edition Hato figure that came with the volume 11 of Genshiken :DDDD
Lots of pictures are required:
The fabulous box :3
Cute Hato sleeping on my futon ♥
Cute Hato sleeping on my futon SKIRTLESS *ç*
But -UGH,- they made his hips WAY TOO feminine!
There's a magnet on his back!
I really enjoyed that day, despite the terrible weather conditions and the rushed visit...
After Akiba, it was the time for another otaku experience, a trip to ODAIBA on the next day!
I was furiously looking forward to it because it was the day of Haru Comic City 17 *_* !
It was my first experience like this and the fact that I had to take care of it all by myself because I was the only fujoshi of the group was quite disheartening, so I'm glad that I managed to do and buy almost everything on my list...
But let's go in order.
First, we reached Odaiba via Tokyo Cruise from Asakusa; we took the "Himiko", the boat designed by Leiji Matsumoto :D
One of girls was cosplaying as
Matael! All the Japanese around went mad and kept taking pictures of her during the cruise x'DDD
Above you can spot a picture of the whole group featuring Himiko and the Rainbow Bridge in the distance :3
We were late as usual, so I managed to reach the HaruComi with another girl (who was just curious about the event) only around 1130 T_T;
It was crazy.
The catalogue (that works like an 'entrance ticket', basically) was long sold out when we arrived in Tokyo, so I had to buy it at the convention on the same day, so I couldn't check anything nor study a strategy to save walking time! Fortunately I wrote down the spaces of the circles that I was interested in before coming, so at least I managed to meet my favourite T&B doujinka that I befriended on pixiv :D
I met
INK (both Kreuz and グフ) and
PAPERBACK (TakaraN) kept the last copy of one of her books away for me ;o; <3
I gave everyone free copies of my Antonio book and Italian chocolate XD
I managed to meet my friend
Roku too <3 She presented me a copy of her last Nintama book...Mhhh, ninja shota >3> ..!
This is my HaruComi booty :3 The little bag and sewing kit (the little white box) were presents by INK that came with the purchase of their books (I raided their table as if I was possessed >_>;; !), but the Antonio underglass, that is from Namja Town, and so an exclusive goodie for me ;D
Unfortunately I was late, so I couldn't buy anything worth a mention from Gundam (I was looking forward to Unicorn and AGE stuff, but I just managed to buy a mediocre Lagarn/Woolf thingie!), the DanshiNoKou books that I longed for by
Oshirizushi, nor a book that intrigued me by
TomoeManufacture (but I bought her Murakoshi/Gino anthology :DDD)... I had to buy this last one overpriced at Mandarake T_T ..!
After this we went to waste more time with the others around, take pictures of the Gundam and then go to the wonderful Oedo Onsen Monogatari.
It was a wonderful experience! I even managed to eat nice sushi like a boss XD
I must say that at first we were a bit embarassed by the idea of going around skinny-dipping in front of other women, but once we were inside it all felt so nice and natural that we were wiggling our Western pussies and butts around as if it wasn't such a big deal XD
I really liked it ;o; !!! But I don't know how 'real' those onsen were-- We smelt chlorine in the water here and there >3> ..!
Besides the otaku stuff, that's what I bought at Odaiba: a pair of Japanese socks to go with my yukata and a pair of sturdy male geta :D I bought the geta at the onsen.
It isn't the most comfortable thing ever to walk with those, but they are quite nice >o< !!!
The day after, we decided to give a try to the newly restyled Nerv Tsudanuma karaoke in Chiba prefecture.
I can't sing and I don't care about karaoke, but since it was branded Evangelion I had to go.
In the end, it was terrible XD
We were asked to pay 400 yen for half an hour and we couldn't order any food: we could do that if we stayed for at least 2 hours.
We couldn't get to know how much extra hours were exactly charged. Apparently it's 800 yen per hours if you wanna use the Eva-themed rooms.
In the end we managed to sing "Zankoku no Tenshi", take some pictures in our Asuka room and we stuffed our faces with the free ice-cream and Fanta Melon at the entrance 'til we were asked to leave, LOL.
After this fiasco, it was time for good old NAKANO with its wonderous Nakano Broadway :D
On this picture you can see my tripmates and the result of their shopping XD
As for your Dae, here I bought a new, proper obi for my yukata, and the stuff that you see here:
The fact that I managed to buy the volume 2 of Exoskull Zero a few days after its release amused me greatly ^_^ !
After the shopping in Nakano, the most of us went to Nikko to visit Edo Wonderlard Nikko, also known as Edomura the day after :3
It's a theme-park inspired and based on the Edo period; from food to the shows, everything feels like a jump in the past! The ninja shows were FUCKING AWESOMES, expecially the scenes (real MOVIES on stage!) at the Ninja Theatre :D
There's also the chance to rent a costume, but they are quite expensive... So we dressed up ourselves with our yukata XD
I was scared because the weather forecast talked about show and such, so I was wearing a sweater and my jeans under the yukata, plus a scarf and muffs-- I REGRET NOTHING XD
Here you can see that I'm using the new obi that I bought at Nakano and the socks+geta from Odaiba >3 !
Here's another cool shot!
Here I am eating a cute fried potato snack while walking on the streets of the village ^_^ ! YUMMY!
Also, the koi. SCARY.
We had the impression that thay could jump out of the pound and run after us any moment x'DD
It was finally the day to go to IKEBUKURO!
I like this place, but it's not my favourite. I still believe that there's more stuff in Akiba, even for fujoshi.
The most impressive bulding here, is definitely the Tokyu Hands. One could find EVERYTHING here. I like to think that it's the paradise of cosplayers :D
Anyway, we started our visit with a lunch at Namja Town (on the second floor of Sunshine City mall) to attend a TIGER&BUNNY event (a detailed review with all kind of pictures and everything is coming soon), then I moved to Otome Road for my righteous fujoshi shopping, expecially in my favourite K-BOOKS doujinshi store and in the end I met with Erika (a friend of me and Teap who's studying in Japan) to try out this GyuKaku barbeque (another thing that I'll review later, with pictures and everything) :D
--I didn't know that beef's tongue could taste this good ò_o !
This is the stuff that I bought here: doujinshi, t-shirts (Bison's was actually bought by Erika and given to me that day), a T&B tote-bag (since the one that I wanted was already sold-out at Namja Town T_T) and a blonde wig that I bought at Tokyu Hands with the intention to use it to cosplay as Hamada from Oofuri-- The result is kinda bad, though XD
In case you're wondering, YES, that's a Blood+ doujinshi :D And David is the uke, FUFUFUFU!
--These are the "free" stickers that I got :3
The squared one comes from Namja Town, and I got it when I ordered Antonio's menu, the other two from Animate, as a prize because I bought a T&B item there (the tote-bag)... Cool.
The day after I left the others to go with Erika to Shibuya's Mandarake and to find Harajuku's newly opened Eva Store.
Shibuya didn't betray my expectations; I found some nice porny SasuIta stuff, Hajime no Ippo goodies (Takamura bottoms to Ippo *_* !) and interesting doujinshi about Go Nagai's series that you can spot on the picture :D
The Eva Store was a bit of a delusion, instead.
I don't understand this need to mix Eva with the infamous trends of Takeshita streets... Everything was shockingly expensive and the choice was not so much: I was looking for a cute shitajiki of Rei to use as a mousepad but I could find only crap featuring Shinji&Rei or Asuka&Rei :/ !
It was interesting, sure, and some items were quite fun (the NERV's chocolates!) but that's not a place that someone could take into consideration for some honest shopping.
--And after spotting this place I realized where the Eva section of Animate went, LOL XD
So, "today" it was the day of my leaving ;_; I bought lot of crap and had fun, so I'm satisfied and inspired, but a little sleepy XD
As a parting gift with the country of the Rising Sun (I'd call it "The Falling Rain", instead-- Damn Tokyo and its terrible weather!), I presented myself another two goodies at the airport: a pair of rubber sole geta (for girls) and a little Daruma doll... I'm still wondering about which wish I should use it for :D
Also, is it normal that these geta fit like this..? I read around that they should be wore like this, actually, and the size is that of my feet, but... Isn't it really weird >_> ..?
--And that's all °_°;;
Se you in the next days for the food/event reviews ;D ! (feel free to tell in the comments what intrigues you the most and what you want to read about first! If the HaruComi, the T&B event at NamjaTown, Edomura, the Himiko cruise or whatever ;D !)
Goodnight XD !!
