So, Fall Season is here and I started watching some of the stuff on my to-watch list :3
Here's a little overview on the series that I picked and some movie stuff that I managed to watch while waiting for them :3
Shounen Maid Curo-kun ∼ Tenshi no Uta - score: 5
I was really looking forward to this and the final result was awful ;_; Ok, they tried to come un with a decent plot to explain the characters personalities, and they did a good job at grasping them, but this OVA was generally kinda bad ;_;
Ok, it was mere porn, it's stupid to hope for some depth here, but considering the original series, I found the script kinda off, excessively simplified and excessively focused on explaining things-- Always in a simplicistic way.
It wasn't a horrible episode, but I still preferred the comic movie over it (go figure)-- This made me want to make a doujinshi myself, 'cause all in all it was animated nicely and came with interesting bits concerning the characters personalities and past :3
One of the worst thing of this series was the character design-- It was so colourful and weird XD Expecially Meis, he's been drawn horribly ;_; !
You can compare the two versions yourself-- The one on the left is the OVA's, the other is from the comic movie.
Fate/ Stay Night ∼ UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS - score: 9
When I spotted this on the recently fansubbed releases I decided to give it a try because of my amusement for more Archer (and eventual Archer/Rin) material :3
I was generally doubtful of its goodness, in fact the first half of the movie, a ridiculous, fast-paced and bad summary of the anime series kinda confirmed my doubts, but fortunately later the story starts to take its form and its nice pace.
The plot still showed some terrible holes, like characters suddenly disappearing from the screen or the total lack of introductions, but I guess that this movie was aimed to those who played the game exclusively, or at least watched the anime series.
I was also disappointed by how everyone fapped on Rin. I mean, ok, she's pretty cute and the main female protagonist in this version, but it's kinda unrealistic that everyone was up to die for her >_>;
Still, the whole thing still kept being interesting: the photography and work with the backgrounds was AWESOME, no stupid CG abuse, the fights were awesome and pretty videogame-like ♥ and the animation was pretty good, also if a bit redundant in certain points, but that was the animators showing off their ANIME PEN0R, I guess.
--Another good point is that I got angsty gay vibes from Kirei/Shinji (and the possibility of Kirei/Shinji/Lancer and Gilgamesh/Shinji/Lancer, LOL) >3>
Also, I really wonder why I like Archer/Rin so much but I kinda dislike Shiro/Rin >3> Anyway, in the end, Archer gets really little love despite his ABSOLUTE AWESOMENESS ;_;
WTF moment of your Dae when she was showed this "student-like" alternative version of Gilgamesh >3>
I was really up for some Archer/Archer YAOI, but in the end it's pretty impossible (probably Archer/Lancer is a better option, LOL)... Here are the two versions from the videogame artworks, Fate (anime) on the left and UBW (movie) on the right:
Bakuman - temporary score: 6
The manga is released here since a year ago or so, I decided to watch the anime instead of reading it out of laziness :D
The series has a nice plot and the characters are interesting-- I'm absolutely bothered by the romantic pretext and the character design, though-- But I'm keen to change my mind after just one episode.
Shinrei Tantei Yakumo - temporary score: 7
Same for Bakuman, an overall good impression but still too early to judge properly. I love the main character and I'm willing to ignore how the hypotetical Yakumo/Haruka is going to spoil everything 'cause I look forward to the villains job and the guy with glasses (LOL)
My list is just missing Togainu no Chi, but that's going to air on October 7 :3 I really hope that someone is going to sub it, almost as fast as they're taking care of shitty My Little Sister can't be this cute! >_>;
...What about you, guys :D ?
