So, I promised you a fangirly post about Kakugo no Susume and here you go :D
Actually I was up for scanning some pages and scanlating them, but in the end I wasn't up for raping my volumes and I just took pictures-- It's good enough, though!
Tsumiko is the fatty lovely girl in love with Kakugo (who requites her love with modest stoicism) and a symbol of hope and saving gentleness.
After Kakugo as Zero kicks a monster's ass, the thing vomits its human meal; among the corpses a man is still alive!
He is one of Kakugo and Tsumiko classmates, and as the others tell her to let him go, Tsumiko runs after him, hugging the dying boy in a warm embrace while reassuring him with gentle words... Awwww ;_;
--I know I couldn't do that D:
In this scene Oboro, Kakugo and Harara (Kakugo's genius and pretty big bro)'s father, "shots" the miraculous Metal Spheres BioZero into his sons bodies.
The pain could kill one man instantly, but Kakugo gladly accepts eight of them: "Thank you very much, Father!" he says while vomiting blood.
Harara, as the older brother, demands the double of Kakugo's Spheres into him and then invites his father to shot at him from a closer distance.
In the end Harara is the member of Hagakure family with more Spheres into his body.
"A true warrior is not satisfied with just enduring pain, the real warrior fights with it until he completely dominates it."
And here we go with a Kakugo/Zero special, 'cause Kakugo is so very gay for his armoir and viceversa... But first, some explaination!
The armoirs that Oboro gave his sons (Zero to Kakugo and Kasumi to Harara) are sentient armoirs, meaning that they are possessed by the spirits of the people died during the experiments of Shiro Hagakure (Oboro's granpa and a War criminal because of his experiments), who basically hate humankind.
The armoirs killed the people who tried to become their partners and Oboro is aware that he could lost both his sons here.
Kakugo doesn't know how to deal with his armoir and in the end he decides to share his body warmth with it.
Deeply moved by Zero's pain and the souls of the 4000 warriors who lies there, Kakugo decides to reach the same level of suffering to better understand them.
After disemboweling himself with his bare hands he cuts his head off: this supreme gesture of pity moves Zero deeply, who decides to protect and cherish Kakugo's noble spirit.
Two pages where you can savor some sexual innuendo of the "vestition".
Another fanservice.
Kakugo is used to keep Zero in his schoolbag.
But you shouldn't think that Kakugo is the only one sacrificing himself:
After he's been exorcised by one of Kakugo's enemies, Zero ends up in Heaven.
Here he's ready to savor the perfect love of pure souls with his perfect body, but once they try to approach him he shouts out: "STOP! I'm a soldier! I don't care about happiness, I just care about my duty, and my duty is bringing peace back in the pained world where Kakugo lives!"
After this he "disembowel himself in Heaven", cursing himself and losing his soul's salvation for ever.
Epilogue of the previous scene: Zero is back to Kakugo but he finds the boy holding the beloved Tsumiko in his arms.
Zero protests, how being with a female could be more important than their duty for which he sacrified his very own soul?!
Kakugo smiles and after leaving Tsumiko in a safe place, he takes off his clothes and screams "I have no words to explain how I feel; so, let me answer you with my body!" and they become one as usual∼
In the end, can you ignore Harara/Kakugo?
Also here, some explaination: as Kakugo/Zero merging went quite ok, Harara had to deal with the furious Kasumi, who deeply hated human beings, expecially men: its souls is the one of a mother who had to sacrify her beloved little child for Shiro to use as "pure material" to complete the armoir.
At first Harara is dismembered by Kasumi, but, amused by the perspective of a good fight and realizing that he shared the same views on humankind, Harara makes his body that of a woman with the help of the Metal Spheres willing to share Kasumi's revenge.
After this Harara killed her father and became "Harara the Human Demon", the mind behind the whole mess with the Fighting Demons, and Kakugo's mortal enemy...
Surprised by Kakugo's improvements, Harara surprises everyone and decides to make of Kakugo her own vassal, thanks to her charming kiss.
Unfortunately the plan fails 'cause Kakugo's feelings for Tsumiko disturbed Harara's intentions, but the pages above made me squirm happily anyway :D
Tsumiko watches the fight of the two brothers and couldn't help some classical samurai overlapping...
"Killing human beings... I'd love if this was your last time."
Kakugo says so before dying in his brother's arms, efficiently melting the ice in his heart... Unfortunately it didn't work for Kasumi too D:
Oh, but don't worry, the series doesn't end like this... Yamaguchi managed to come up with a great happy ending XD
Aaah, what an awesome series ^o^
...Ah, and do you think that this needs an "Adult Contents" filter >_> ..?
