Hmm... Celebrated Gary's birthday Thursday. I had the idea of taking him out to breakfast and some other things, but he surprised me. Even though it was his day he did it for me... he took me to Rams Park to see my fave team practice... YUP! I got to see my Rams (and Adam ;P) Now you see why this man has my heart. Afterwards we went to lunch at a Taco Bell (which I haven't had in ages), and came home to just goof off and do nothing :) I baked him a German chocolate cake, and for once something I baked actually came out great :) I don't usually do the bread/desert bake thing, so it was good ;)
Saturday I called him to come stay with me because I felt like shit. I couldn't find the thermometer, but he did and we found out that I had a temp of 103... no wonder I didn't feel good. He started about taking me to the hospital, which made me pissy... and I just said that if its not better soon, we'll go. Dunno what it was but it disapated by evening. Still felt like crap, but the fever was gone. Its hard to get him to realise that this will happen often to me because of my immune status, and that I'm not superman or something. I know it hurts him to go through it all, but that's how it is... and I've explained it many times. Living apart has made some things much easier for us to deal with, but some things are, and always will be hard to take. Anyhoo, feel fine now.
Mac (
bluedrum), the cane came today! They lied to you though. You said it shiped on the 5th, the ticket said the 8th, and it couldn't have possibly been shipped before you called to rag at them as it came vis UPS. Sounds like Eric (
planetconcrete, excuse after excuse. The only difference is that they DID ship, where as he still hasn't. I don't understand why either. I mean the books are bought and paid for, the shipping was paid for, so what's the fucking problem?? All he has to do is get off his lazy duff, wrap the damn things, take them to the post office and be done with it all. I suppose I'll die before I ever get to read the crap... whatever. I also know that he'll never get another order from me... not after this (even though you ordered the books, but he's stiffed me before with Eden). Anyway, the cane is awesome. Hell its so heavy that you don't even need the sword. One good whack with it will do some serious ass whoopin, not that I intend to ever use it for that ;D So a great big thank you for it. You didn't have to do it you know, and I appreciate it greatly :)

Bacall rips Cruise's 'vulgar' behavior
NEW YORK - Lauren Bacall has a few unkind words to say about Tom Cruise. In an interview in the Aug. 8 issue of Time magazine, now on newsstands, the 80-year-old actress says, "When you talk about a great actor, you're not talking about Tom Cruise."
"His whole behavior is so shocking," she says. "It's inappropriate and vulgar and absolutely unacceptable to use your private life to sell anything commercially, but I think it's kind of a sickness."
Bacall was alluding to Cruise's displays of emotion and public courting of Katie Holmes in the weeks leading up to the release of his new film, War of the Worlds. Cruise and Holmes became engaged in June after he proposed at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Last fall, Bacall made similar remarks about Cruise's ex-wife Nicole Kidman, her co-star in Birth. While promoting the movie, Bacall became irritated when an interviewer described Kidman as "a legend."
"She's not a legend," Bacall said. "She can't be a legend at whatever age she is. ... You have to be older." ...cracks me up, especially what she said about Kidman :D
This sounds refreshing, but the problem would be finding a cantalope that is actually ripe and sweet. I may make it though since I have to do the grocery/bill thing tomorrow.
Frosty Cantaloupe Soup
1 medium-sized ripe cantaloupe, chunked (about 4 cups)
3 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
1/4 cup honey
Half of a 6-ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1-1/2 cups ginger ale, chilled
Fresh mint leaves
Process cantaloupe chunks, ice cream, honey, and orange juice concentrate in a food processor until smooth, in batches if necessary; transfer to a large pitcher or serving bowl. Cover mixture, and chill for at least 1 hour. Just before serving, gently stir in the ginger ale. Garnish individual servings with fresh mint leaves.
6 to 8 servings
OPTION: For variety, you might want to make Honeydew Soup. Simply chunk up half of a large honeydew instead of cantaloupe, and instead of orange juice concentrate, use half of a 6-ounce can of frozen limeade concentrate, thawed.
Bout it I guess as its getting late. TA!
