Journal 14: 1/12/03 - Pianos, Cars & Rock Stars

I taught myself how to play the piano. Yay! Now I can play the first part of Schindler’s List and the Moonlight Sonata. Got into all of my classes too. Now I can graduate this quarter. I’ll have somewhere around 262 credits, haha. I saw the movie “Adaptation” with Nicholas Cage. It was really good. Just what I needed, actually. I also saw “Catch Me If You Can,” which was good also. I like movies with happy endings. The new thing is for movies to have horrible depressing endings where the main character dies or something because it’s deep and provocative or whatever. You know what? I like old movies. Like Alfred Hitchcock or Humphrey Bogart movies. I watched “Casablanca” last night. I was surprised. I thought it had a sad ending, but the movie ended rather happily.

The same day I finished Driver Training, which was the first time I was able to drive my parents’ car without the driving instructor, I crashed it. I was doing fine; drove all the way to some light bulb store in San Jose, and then to Valley Fair Mall. It was on the way back, maybe three-fourths of a mile from home, when we decided to stop at a gas station. Bad idea. I was pulling up to the pump, but I pulled in too far and crashed into the brick column. People stared. I was mad. The damage is not very bad at all, but it’s bad enough to be embarrassing to drive. Oh well. You know what? Avril Lavigne is hot. My God. She’s Canadian too, eh? I feel humpy, haha. Urgh, I want to take a ski trip with a bunch of friends. That would be awesome. Stay in a cabin, play Pictionary and Charades in front of a fire while sipping hot cocoa. Mmmmmm.
