Have any of you ever heard of a little town called Frankenmuth? It's a creepy little German tourist town in Michigan. There's a huge X-Mas store right outside of town that draws all these people in, not to mention chicken dinners galore. I have a little nickname for Frankenmuth... wanna know.. ok. It's Satan's Asshole.
Let's go into a little history of Frankenmuth. It was founded by a group of German missionaries who wanted to "save" the Native Americans who already lived here. The Germans populated to their hearts content but eventually their gene pool became something you wouldn't want to swim in so instead of marrying into the Natives they went to Saginaw to get some fresh genes.
There's a bridge here that used to be called Red Bridge, I'm assuming named that because they would hang natives off of it whenever they fancied. Soon after the natives were long gone it became known as Black Bridge. Can anyone guess why? That's right kids, the KKK had a chapter in Frankenmuth at the time and they didn't enjoy black folk moving into the region. They hanged 4 black men from it. Right before Frankenmuth became the tourist community it is now, the KKK moved on the bigger and better places (namely Millington). Then the Christmas store came in and all the tourists came to get their chicken dinners.
So do you think Frankenmuth has redeemed itself from it's shady past? Here's something gnaw over. They KEPT the bridge! Yup as you go north on 83 right before Bronner's if you look to your right you'll see the infamous Black Bridge. And it's not even in use. They keep it there for "sentimental values".
Don't you want to pack up the kids and head on into Frankenmuth now? Me too...
