surprise surprise, you were only fooling yourself
i'm listening to a mix-cd someone made me because i'm in a band. it's actually the second mix cd i got from someone for thát reason. i'm in a band with girls.
the first cd was made for me by sack-o-nielsch who named it 'punk grandma's' and it had all the classic girl punk bands from the 70-s/80-s on it. was a bit of a history lesson since i actually only listened to the bands i heard in the bar i spend my youth at... which were mostly male punks.. mm.
now this second cd is making me smile as well since it has nancy sinatra, the rondells, nikki & the corvettes the avengers and much more on it. (29 songs!) i love how you can get so happy because someone put in the effort to make you a mix cd with a note saying 'here's a little inspiration for your new songs'. the guy who made this for me is a total sweetheart and secretly knows shitloads about music... also he knows all my friends from hrn.
today we had the funeral. it was good to see my family and shed some tears. and think about the good times. my grandma was a grandma you see in the movies and read about in books. she wore flower patterns and made us hot coco. she had grey curly hair and played bingo. she sang in the church choir with other grandma's. where have all the real grandma kinda grandma's gone?
so// yeah. happy memories above all sad things.
i totally cheered myself up with some bright future thoughts and home made chili con veggie carne ánd queens of the stone age LOUD ánd now i'm closing the evening with this mix cd and my paper journal.
