Just got back from the Small World festival in Kent. Went down in Kent... really beautiful festival. Completely solar powered (and a bit of wind power). Batteries power the stages through the night (which is good, as my first set on main stage was 5am!) There were 4 stages, each run by a different collective of really cool people. I went completely on my own this time, and so just had to talk to random people. Made a lot of good friends... also the tendency was to stay up till the early hours (8.30am on Sunday morning!) around the camp fires.
Many of the people at the festival are from Brighton, and I've got a lot of invitations to go and visit there (which I think I will do).
Got on train this morning, incredibly muddy, and tired but happy. Arrived at Stoke to be picked up by my mate John. Went and had dinner with John and Lib (and Boo the dog) in their house near Stoke, and then we drove to Crewe where I was doing a gig.
Luckilly I was able to borrow some non-muddy shoes from John :-)
Just got back to stable internet connection at John's house. So... catching up on emails then myspace, and then going to bed...
Sheffield tomorrow (hopefully, if I can get there easily from Stoke) to see Clare (and go cheap-iceskating with her tomorrow night) before finally returning to Manchester on Thursday..
... Which reminds me, Thursday night we're doing another free "Songs for the Bathtub" from Fuel, and it's going to be a corker! Lots of great acoustic acts playing... though I'm just taking it easy and listening / doing the PA.
