Not-that-happy New Year
First of all, happy year 2009 to everyone who possibly reads this post. I hope you had fun celebrating the end of year ^^ At least more fun than I had.
Parents went to acquaintances of theirs and celebrated at their place, so me and my sister were pretty much left alone. At first we were planning to take some photos, because Piva needs them for her entrance exams, but camera she'd borrowed from our aunt broke before she could take some decent shots, so we had to change our plans.
Having no fireworks ourselves, we decided to go out and watch fireworks there. Piva took a digital camera and a tripod to take photos of fireworks. The place we'd chosen to watch was really windward. We were frozen before the fireworks started, so we decided to return home. On our way home the New Year and tens of fireworks started all around us. We ended up running from place to place with the camera and the tripod to take some shots here and there, fearing for our own lives, because some of the fireworks were terribly close to us.
Well, when we checked the photos they were all blurred. We didn't even have a toast for the New Year. There's a saying in Czech Republic meaning 'you will be doing all year as you did on the New Year', or something along those lines. I must say I had slept during beginning of New Year last year.
Therefore, I am SO looking forward to feeling alone and running across the streets with a tripod in midnight in year 2009. Thanks, Life. -_-
Also, I have made a random discovery regarding ARIBAI from NEWS. I finally know what the hell does katakana for 'ARIBAI' means. I know, in before slowpoke. ><
