i will have to apply seriously today, since on monday i will have the final discussion for phd and i don't want to spoil my longish weekend, even because it's the last phantom of holidays and this year i got really few.

although it is demonstrated that you can easily steal two to three hours of sleep per day for four days a week, without completely hallucinating. which is good. you go slightly psychotic but that is quite easy to manage >.<

in my opinion it's really difficult to assign the roles in this pairing and probably when they're together they fight for predominance - like two alpha males, to say it with the appropriates words of someone else - and i assume it will be the plot to decide the roles. that are probably quite fluid, things being as they are.
before receiving shadow_icia and niennasilimaure uber intersting points of view i was thinking mainly about a seme!reno with the meaning of a top!reno, the one who puts it in, just to say it clearly. really, when i figure those lad laid i cannot imagine a reno being fucked silly XD, as i can't figure a cloud over him pumping like mad. no! no! *shakes head* go away! it's just a feeling and i value it for what it is, but in my opinion cloud prefers to be bottom XD even because he looks quite unexperienced among the sheets - you can read it from the virginal pout on that cute face. moreover i have in mind that reno is the one who rescues cloud after loz's raid at the church. i so much would have liked to see that scene silly fangirl me
but yes, when in upright position, reno would be probably the uke one if physical confrontation comes. it is clear from the scene at the healing lounge where reno is literally sent out in two moves. but really, despite his cockiness i can't see cloud acting too seme-ish for a series of reasons. and there's no uke without his seme >.<
on the contrary, reno would play the seme part when poor little cloudy begins to angst. and we all know that cloud will angst for sure, he's sooo emo although the end of ac was very cathartic in some ways. he seemed somehow cured at the end of the movie: his spliced personality reconstructed, sephiroth killed for the third time and dissolved in black feathers and green sparkles although that "i won't become a memory" sounded ominous to me and all his ghosts disappeared in a great white light. for this reason i expect him to be much calmer with just some bad memories and nightmares - how i LOVE angsty bishonen having nightmares! - to cope with, and much more self esteem. not much the emo uke anymore, either. so a seldom seme!reno in this case augh!
in the end the first thing coming to my mind is: FINALLY AN EQUILIBRATED PAIRING!!!! usually the game in yaoi is: big cold-blooded seme saves/threatens/falls in love with/whatever little emo uke, and i think we all love it. at the same time i appreciate two people who can deal one with the other at almost the same level. this is the case.
well, to sum up everything i'd like to share a suggestion i got from chris bathy, not personally, that's OBVIOUS the founder of nanowrimo, which is: let your characters play. which is something very useful and really dangerous at the same time, since it can turn a story upside down it happened to me once: i's been WONDERFUL. i think this is really the case when such strategy must be applied, this is what i'm currently doing. trying with alternate luck to keep both of them as much in character as i can and see how the situation evolves under its own push sorta. and these are my two cents about this.

THE REASONS WHY CLOUD CAN'T ACT TOO SEME-ISH WITH RENO
just one: in my opinion he grows fonder of reno during all the film - although both of them act very cockily one with the other - and in the end he has the revelation. HE LOVES HIM.
although he probably realizes that if reno & c help him is not for sheer purity of intents.
think about it: in the game they were enemies, although somehow respectful one of the other imho. in the film reno begins to help him, in a very clumsy and annoying way. what i really can't understand is why reno first calls him then messes up everything like that at the healing lounge.. they meet three times, they somehow collaborate the gallery scene is simply perfect and then cloud fights against sephy. and when everything is finished he's left alone, without zack, if we assume he was his first crush, or sephy, if he was the second. so who can cure his loneliness and the aftermath of all that struggle? when friends go back home and winter descends on midgar? >.< well, barret, maybe XD but he's probably quite bad in bed with that arm fistfucking... i am a perv i know or cid... i would exclude vincent for a lot of reasons and so we are only left with women or animals.
or *blink* gorgeous bigmouthed cocky perv reno. my fave!
in the end they both passed through awful personal hells. cloud one is portrayed mostly in last order and the flashbacks of the game, while i desume reno's one from the scars on his face if they really are scars and well, with everything he did he probably has some remorses to deal with also. they have things to forget and habits to loose. so maybe they will also loose their mutual cockiness. i stated it: i will let them do whatever they want. in any case.
they will do sparkles together!
